The 3D image (with Acer glasses) is absolutely superb. There is enough bright, sharp and balanced by the colors here. The feeling is really like in the movies (depending on the cinema probably even better than the movies), and thanks to the big picture is far more effective than via 3D TV. In Economy mode (in a darkened room) there is enough sunlight for a perfect 3D experience.
Have particularly liked Disney's Rapunzel and Tron Legacy. Especially in the Rapunzel 3D effect during the whole movie is enormous. Certain scenes (lanterns scene) bring an image content really close to his face. Tron Legacy has partly a tremendously sharp, crystal clear picture.
The 2D image is also good, especially via 24 progressive images. The colors are a bit too strong and bright in 2D mode, but can be well darkened via Contrast and Brightness settings. Although not Full HD is the picture quality depending on Bluray truly outstanding. Example Avatar in 2D.
In Economy mode, the projector is pleasantly quiet. The color wheel is almost absent in fortuitous.
The projector has HDMI 1.4a and thus supports 3D method "frame packed"
3D Blurays. Side by Side also plays the projector off properly. You can manually set the 3D format in each case on the projector, there is also an auto detection.
If the 3D image at the beginning of a comic effect usually helps easy fast in Menu select "Invert" and the picture is perfect, and it remains the function.
Allows the glasses 3D effect off by pressing a button, so you can watch the 3D movie with the glasses in 2D ... At the projector work only glasses type DLP-Link.
Weaknesses, about which one can overlook:
Weaknesses of Beamer fortunately few, but they are there already and ... The RBE (rainbow effect) falls above all to the 2D mode and is bearable but available. The remote has been extremely weak - is a small part is not illuminated and you have to aim exactly know that the projector responds. Since you can adjust the menu much and continues to do so often, the operation is so annoying sometimes.
The fan is somewhat reminiscent of a silent vacuum cleaner, fortunately only in normal mode ... In Economy mode (less light output - completely 3D compatible) drives the fan then quite violently down until you only perceives a slight noise, which in turn for DLP Beamer is a great plus. The sharpness control is only possible manually and the projector as the projector has no lens shift you have to center it just in front of the screen up / mounted on the ceiling.
Conclusion:
The Beamer is therefore recommended to all those who want 3D home theater, have a small budget and do not constitute disproportionate demands on high-end home theater systems. In short the most coolest and best projectors currently at such a price, and what possibilities As unrivaled unique in the segment.
