I'm always a little skeptical when a majority of the reviews for a product derived from the Vine-product testers. I want there to really offend anyone, but I know from personal experience (elsewhere) that you never really 100% neutral in such a situation. What's also completely normal.
That reminds me of this device appeared no alternative for the reasons mentioned below, I ordered it to me anyway. And since I can confirm the positive reviews in full, I thought that here are some more reviews of non-Vine-product testers can not hurt.
First of all: We have only hard floors (tiles and laminate), carpet there only in the bathroom in the form of a Badteppichsets. And cats hair tidy. :)
We have long been fans Dyson. Since there are viable robotic vacuum cleaner (we have a Neato BotVac 85), we have no wired suction more, but only cordless Dyson intended between the rapid sucking. The last time this was a CD62. As good as the Dyson for Akkusauger are also - there were always 2 things extremely annoyed: Firstly, the rather short battery life (with activated motor brush less than 10 minutes), on the other hand, the fact that an emptying of the dust container practically never been possible without fumbling with some tools in it. Back when we anschafften the first battery-Dyson, there was definitely nothing better. But that's of course a few years ago, and so I decided to look around at how the state of affairs is so today.
I wish I would have had one of these 2in1 models, which is on the one hand to use as a normal upright vacuum cleaners, and where on the other hand, refer to the actual vacuum cleaner and use it as a hand vacuum cleaner. It was also an electrically driven rotary brush duty. It was clear quite quickly that this 2in1 devices are all about leistunsschwach and too little stamina. Omitting the 2in1 features then significantly more devices came into consideration. Ua the Bosch Atleth seems to be one of the most popular devices in this area. When I was able to take in the local MM times in the hand of this part, I was rather disappointed. Esp. with the feel I was able to start anything. Cheap-looking plastic, and very stable not just worked the whole thing. The same was also true for all other exception Upright Akkusauger that were exhibited there, apart from the Dyson's course.
When researching here on amazon I then came across the Vax. At first glance you might think it was a Dyson. The overwhelmingly positive reviews were a no-brainer me.
After the part has been delivered, I can say that could keep him in any other view for a Dyson. Anyone googling a bit, also finds out pretty quickly why this is so. :) Between the haptics and the overall impression of the structure of the Vax and other devices that I had looked at the MM, are little worlds. From Dyson there are also Upright vacuum cleaners, just is just not one of them with battery operation. In this respect, this device here is almost no alternative for us than previous Dyson users basically.
The suction power I would rate as compared to the Dyson as relatively identical, our claims due to the exclusive hard floors certainly are not the same that someone with much carpet. Actually the Vax sucks even better: When Dyson could not turn off the rotating brush, and if you order more than somewhat coarser dirt drove (dried fodder remains of cats, for example), this was mostly first thrown by the brush by half the space. Then sometimes it took several approaches until the dirt was gone (usually flipped it with lift and on top of the part absorbed to sit on). At Vax can be firstly the brush off, on the other hand happens the described problem but also with rotating brush here simply do not.
An absolute killer feature are the two supplied rechargeable batteries. Not only that, one of them already hold out much longer. The real benefit is yes of that here never can happen, what could happen from time to time when Dyson: namely, that one runs out during the work of juice in the middle. Provided you remember to pack the empty battery always equal to the charging station, you always have a full battery on hand. The charging time is about 3 hours more than in order. The charger features conveniently holes for wall mounting, so I could reuse the upper hole of the wall mount of Dyson's equal.
If you want to call a point which is not quite as good, then this would be the already mentioned several times relatively weak suction power when connecting the pipe to the hose. Which is really not so plump, and also, more generally, the plugging of the tubing and the use of the whole construct is a bit uncomfortable. This is for me, however, so no problem, because I had already decided anyway to also to create even a small cordless vacuum cleaner, which will then be used for very small jobs and for the car. In this point you have to keep the Dyson benefit that he was universally applicable. Pipe from the other top it - that was the brief sucker hand. For whom this possibility is the decisive argument, for which there is still no alternative in my opinion. The 2in1 devices that there are, in my opinion, as I said, all too inefficient. But the disadvantages of Dyson, esp. The very short battery life, predominated here just for us.
Another aspect which would be a point deduction amount may, is the thing with the relatively often to clean filter. To this end, I lack frankly even the long-term experience at the moment; I will therefore review, if necessary, update again later. For now, I honestly do not really see a problem here. On the one hand a replacement filter is indeed included, so that you, just like the battery, can always have a clean and dry filter on hand. Secondly, you could filter the Dyson probably should actually clean more often than you actually did. The manual was here if I remember correctly, no specific time notice, but simply spoke of "regularly".
On the plus side would be recorded again that the dust container is not only significantly more perceived as the Dyson, but is also much easier to empty.
What else is there to say? Due to the relatively large floor nozzle and the somewhat unusual handling through the ball joint must be initially a little accustomed to the use, but that's obviously not a showstopper. The LED light, which in this country is not necessarily something normal for us is, of course, very cool. And he is not really silent, of course, but he does not have to also.
Conclusion:
Great satisfaction! Already the unpacking experience disappointed the already slightly spoiled Dyson users in any way - even rather the opposite. The device makes a stable, well-crafted impression has enough power, and has through the two supplied batteries basically a unique selling point, which is weighted relatively highly by us. The Dyson had its advantages in terms of usability, the elsewhere more than makes up for the Vax. Who desöfteren a "long tube" -Dyson has also used without pipe, but will have no choice but to purchase another device. The Vax can in principle replace this, convinced since then but far more so as in operation as a normal upright vacuum cleaners. If there was one of the Dyson uprights with battery power, then we would probably these. So this is, however, here the device that comes closest to the. The mentioned small drawbacks are outweighed by the compelling benefits, so I'm really not ready to deduct a star. The Dyson I had once so also given maximum points, despite its drawbacks, simply because there was at that time in this area just nothing better.
What really surprised me is the amazing bad impression the Upright Akkusauger from Bosch, AEG or Philips awakened, I could pick it up at the local MM. All these devices act as compared to Dyson's and, indeed, the Vax like children's toys. Most likely the Bosch Atleth would from these devices yet come into question. Its really the only advantage would have been that it would have been quieter. That's about it as well. From the advertised running time of 60 minutes (with one battery) when comparing nothing left, because the 60 minutes refer to the smallest of 3 power levels at which the brush does not rotate. In the maximum level then it is not even to the 25 minutes that make the Vax with a battery - and here is just yet another case.
After I'm fond of this unit so I wonder if I should buy a handset at Amazon UK the Vax Gator motorized brush. With about 45 pounds this is relatively low (the euro exchange rate at the moment, of course, for the Popo is :)), also is the supply of hand vacuums that have a motor brush, in this country then again worse than useless. Basically you end up since then almost inevitably again in a Dyson ...;)
ADDENDUM 1:
After a few days with the Vax and the first verflogenen euphoria I have now but deduct an asterisk. Reason: If you put the tube on the tube, then leaves the suction pipe at unfortunately still much to be desired. When vacuuming loose dirt from tiled floor you realize that's not, but if you want, for example, be absorbed by the cushion attachment crumbs from ceilings or furniture, then the result can then being evil to be desired. In general I have to say that the usability pull the hose and the pipe stuck in the long run but somehow is not so hot. I admit that I initially thought, to me as easily used to it, but after a few days I have to say that is not the case, unfortunately. As I was looking though a device, which, as previously also the Dyson, can be used both as a pool cleaner as well as a hand vacuum cleaner equally well, the Vax not proven then but when the right thing. If I keep it, I would prob me. To purchase an additional small hand vacuum cleaner, but I do not really want.
For now, however, the device can not, because the mechanical structure was indeed clearly visible from the outset.
In this respect, it must be noted that all that stated above for use purely as Upright vacuum cleaning remains true, and who is using the device even so, for there is still a buy recommendation. By contrast, the thing with the hose and the pipe proved at least for me in the long run as too cumbersome and inefficient.
ADDENDUM 2:
When I just completely cleaned the equipment and zusammenbaute again, an ME I noticed quite a serious design flaw in which must lead to a further depreciation of at least one star. Actually even more two. But I leave it at times in total. 3 stars because "not bad" me still fits. I've attached a picture where you can see the problem: the air inlet port of the dust container is pressed in the docked state to the corresponding counterpart, which is fixedly provided on the vacuum cleaner. On the counterpart sits a rubber seal, so that the whole in the assembled state is airtight. The problem now is that the pressure is far too low, as this would really complete airtight there. One sees even downright a small gap. I've placed this even a smidgen extended for the photo by I rumgedrückt a bit on the site. The gap, the "default" as is, so to speak, would have been too small for the photo, but it is in reality quite clearly visible. Of the power that I have by pushing on this interface can be act, of course, in normal use of the sucker arise. It's a fact that the suction through this gap draws air in operation and the suction power is thus lower than it could be. Hand on the tube you will notice the difference even if I manually press this point together, so that there is no more air is sucked to the suction end of the hose increases quite noticeably.
To solve the problem, just need only the connection on the dust container or the suction 2-3mm or to be longer, so that the contact pressure is increased. Perhaps the manufacturer noted this at some point and the whole modified accordingly.
