Only four stars for this masterpiece? Yes, unfortunately - because what Amazon is currently selling here is not quite the original album, as it appeared in 1996 Misery Guts Music (UK), but the 1998 US release on New Recordings. The difference is actually ridiculous, but in effect a huge scandal: The order of the tracklist has been changed, apparently to conceal the extent of "vulgar language". Number 1 is no longer the angry, angry and politically incorrect opener "Roll Up" but the lyrics halfway harmless "Russians", followed by the equally harmless "Tiger Lillie Line". That probably in at least ten US states banned anyway "Banging in the Nails" was banished from number 3 on an inconspicuous place somewhere in the back third, and so on. Dumm here is: Even if "The Brothel to the Cemetery" unlike most TL-albums not a concept album is, that can be absolutely heard only in a specific sequence, makes the original tracklist really mind and leads the listener through emotional ups and depths that one wants to know reluctantly turned upside down. If that's the price that the brave US citizens have to pay for being able to consume tangible European culture and above of the counter, then I can do just sorry (again). Luckily the AutoRip version of the songs is sorted correctly. So you can first stay afloat until you have found the time to copy the album on your computer and burn new in the correct order.
