Qi is a standard that makes the wireless charging of devices possible. As is known, this device serves exactly this purpose.
Here Aukey offers multiple chargers with this technique on, I think this is one of the most interesting ones.
Compatible devices include the Nexus 4, 5, 7 (2013), some of Nokia Lumia devices, such as the 930, some Windows phones, with corresponding battery covers many Samsung devices and even iPhones, but this must be provided with a special casing ,
Scope of supply:
But let's start at the beginning. Interesting is on the back of the pack, as the input voltage 5V is here indicated at 1.5 amps while 1 amp output current as it says. As far as I understand it, so that the loss during charging about Qi is already factored, although the course, can go on. Because of course is the wireless charging is not currently achieved such efficiency as on a normal cable. Charging times I give you the same.
The delivery is:
-The Charger itself, for which there are 18 months warranty
-A Micro-USB cable to about 1.2 meters in length
-as Well as a USB power adapter, which can theoretically could use alone. This actually delivers 1.5A and because it is with piano lacquer finish, I once it left the protective film here prefer.
-Then Still a manual in various languages, including reasonably understandable German, here.
The instrument itself:
The special feature of the device is the loading area. Because this can be turned, rising by nearly 360 degrees. Then you can still turn back, it just so no cables are overtightened inside. This makes the unit from the idea also first to a good desk stand for mobile phones.
The charging station is 136 grams, 5 cm high and 6.4 cm in diameter wide.
If the device you look more closely, you will find on the back of the first micro-USB port.
On the right side is an activity LED, which lights up red when power is applied is. In order to achieve complete darkness, you therefore must disconnect the power supply.
On the left side an additional LED is then to find these flashes green when a device is placed and loaded.
It has been my experience that it also does not stop flashing when the device is fully charged.
In addition, the unit will beep to announce charging. Is not that annoying as I would have thought so in the description of it, could well annoy the one or other but, when the phone is upped the ante in minute intervals.
On the other hand, it is practical, because so bekommste most consistent with that loading works.
On the bottom you will find a non-slip rubber. This will probably prevent the station from sliding around too much, if you eg. His phone operated during charging. Works - but only during normal train a dangling cable.
On the top is then the actual cargo area that can be precisely rotate. So it's about possible his phone in landscape mode to lean against it to see when loading videos or something.
The cargo area is rubberized and devices are also safe to a certain angle it.
It is not directly tacky but dust accumulates very quickly and well it. But that does not mind that my Nexus 4 in its case it was always stable, except when I had the angle set a little too big. From 45 °, it becomes critical)
By the way: What you have probably already seen in the pictures, is the piano lacquer surface that covers the charger. Se chic, but this machine in my opinion a poor choice. The unit had a few minutes after I had unpacked it, unsightly fingerprints on the housing and scratches will be well to see potentially even faster.
Charging:
Now comes the most important first, namely how quickly the device loads. Use the supplied AC adapter and the cylinder Ladekabel- my Nexus 4 from 0 to 100 percent in invited almost exactly 3 hours. That's an hour longer than with a 2.4A charger with a USB cable.
It is actually slower. This is of course partly due to the weaker power supply that outputs 1.5 A, but certainly also to the loss of power by induction charging.
Bad, I found the value but not because it has the burden of inputs and of the Electronic USB cable no longer. That may sound low, but you first used it as a thing for a while, took root quickly that the phone is stored but rather times to the charger, place on the table. At least for me that is.
Is already in the manual that the unit is slightly warm. The mobile phone of course also, but a lukewarm temperature never went with me.
In there is the way also to note that you should have available but please 1 meter from radios and TVs away the unit, otherwise noise may occur, such as the manual calls it. I had not, but I hear no radio and only have my monitors here. It may well be that radio transmissions can be influenced by the device. My phone reception has thus deteriorated not noticeably.
It's loud Aukey probably normal that devices are only almost fully charged. For me, the Nexus 4 was filled to 100%, so that, I did not notice anything in the 3 weeks, which I have now.
In addition, it is also said that when thick cases possibly the charge is not possible. That makes sense somewhere infinitely far does the story not with the induction. Therefore, the instrument must be to load always closer than a few millimeters on the device, otherwise there is either a continuous beeping - because the thing the phone automatically detects and loses or an empty battery pack.
Other:
The device itself does not have much scope. That's the one nice if you want to take the unit time, but on the other hand it is also stupid, if you want to upload larger devices. Horizontal can be all (or I would say most) and attach the component well and there are no problems.
If you want to be device but angled forking, it can ever happen that, for example, due to a comical gravity or the sheer size of some equipment. The Nexus 7 (2013), the rotation may not be as much as desired. Here the tablet touch either the table and slides off or you do not get so bent as you like.
This makes the rotation function again somewhat limited use. My 4.7 inches smartphone fits it great, but in times of 6 inch and 5.5 inch phablets standard smartphones I would think instead of the manufacturer time to an enlargement of the device. Not even necessarily the platform itself, but at least the height or the contact surface.
That needed to be said, since I myself would have imagined the energizer really bigger. He disappears behind the elegant mobile phone and also does not take away so much space, but at least a greater Mü he should have been quiet.
Pro / Con:
Positives:
-Easy And not too slow charging
-Schickes Design (except for the piano lacquer times)
-Power Supply and cable supplied
-Rutschfreier Foot and loading area
-The Pivot function is really convenient to use the device as a normal "mount"
Neutral:
-The LEDs myself I find useful as you so can always check whether current flows or is loaded. But they sit at a position where they are covered by almost all devices, viewed from the front on it. Closer to the foot, the lights would probably have done better.
-Außerdem Can I imagine that one of the night from the Leuchterei, though may not be very bright, distracted.
Negative (reason enough for "only" 4 stars):
-Klavierlackoberfläche. I have no objection in principle, but with such a device must not be real.
-Size. I have to take it as a negative point, since the devices are really always larger and eventually the space on the mini-tower for the full application will no longer be enough.
-Also, If it is not slow, the charge lasts longer than in any case over a cable
Due to the principle must be closely lie at the station, which is why I can not deduct the device the negative point, the device naturally.
Conclusion:
The device definitely makes what forth.
The charging function is fulfilled properly and to it still looks chic on the desk (apart from mentioned details). The non-slip surfaces and the rotation function I think is a good thing to make this charger Alltagstauglich.
The big advantage is, of course, the Qi standard itself. One must not remove a shell, a cable rauskramen and the device can sometimes just sit in between to load.
These reasons have you ever let me think about it often, so to get me one thing and I'll give it no longer.
Although I will soon have a new smartphone, which has not mastered the standard, you can still buy an enclosure for it to use it anyway. Likewise, I will do my Nexus 4 probably much less often to the cable hanging (at night it is still mandatory, since I use it as an alarm clock with vibration, because the cell phone because presumably would slide down).
Had the LEDs now be switched off even for the night, I would recommend the device each with NEM Qi-enabled smartphone. But as long as you are willing to pay 23 euros for a cool looking charger and the part does not want to put on the bedside table, it makes the purchase determines nothing wrong.
So much for the battery charger.
