Nevertheless, you can convince yourself of it quickly by simply lighting a cigarette, that the device is working and knows what it is doing. After less than one minute, it switches immediately to the higher mode.
In lowest mode it is quite audible but did not bother us at night in the bedroom. The air, however, occurs a significantly fresher. Whether the objective is so now, or the imagination plays along because I do not know, but this feeling of freshness I did not at least through the central ventilation system.
In a situated on a main road apartment we have also tested the device. There clearly has to do more. And even in rooms with open fireplaces, it does a good job.
Supplement January 2014:
A few months ago we had a basement fire and the whole house needed to be renovated. The fear then currently flying toxic soot was great and this device a very great comfort. After the renovation, we have it run for a few days in each room until we were sure to be exposed to increased stress.
Mostly it is running in the minimum program. When the basement was painted but it immediately jumped to the highest intensity. Besides serving as an air purifier, it is for us always a good "alarm" regarding contaminated air.
We use it now in the room of our daughter, who is suffering from mold allergy. She feels much better in the morning.
The device is not exactly small. Somewhat like a small suitcase, but you can make in a great room corner or behind a chair and there performed his good service without disturbing on. The quality of life increases. We have already taken to parties with friends, was where with "smoke" to be expected.
Energy consumption is low and pleasing way, does not fall further consequence.
