The story begins with the discovery of a drowned man had left a message on an identical crab box label to the box found by Milou. Tintin comes with Thompson and Thomson investigate, but Lieutenant Allan imprisoned. But Tintin manage to escape with Captain Haddock and fail in the desert before returning to the coast and find the crew of Karaboudjan, now Jebel Amilah, then stop the gang and their leader, Omar Ben Salaad, another pirate to solid coverage as Rastapopoulos.
The difference from the current issues is the presence of African characters changed later and the consumption of alcohol by Captain Haddock became more subdued thereafter. Excluding the texts full frame are those taken from the edition black & white pages that will form large thumbnails.
A short story, but at the decisive meeting between Tintin & Haddock and the only one where Tintin agrees to see Milou with a bone.
