I just got the D800 and I made some photos with Nikkor 85mm including G. The pictures are stunning both dynamic that dive (provided you do not move). The shutter is quieter (better damping) as my D700 which is a plus in terms of the induced vibrations. Personally I did not notice any green tint on the screen of the case, contrary to what I read on forums. Coming from the D700 I immediately found the functions and menus easily. Direct Laccès in Live View is a plus. I also used a Nikkor 300mm F4, to photograph a tit, ISO 1600 and by focusing strongly (equivalent to 600 mm) and the quality remains very bonne.Je find that the noise is very well controlled with high sensitivity, and it s 'further improved by correcting the raw with the DXO Optics Pro software. Although, when I can, I use the manual adjustment of the white balance (white calibration sheet), I find that the D800 does well with the automatic mode. For the moment I have not seen the emergence of dust on the sensor or in the viewfinder, but I'm a hundred photos.
