It should be the BD-S477. I liken the player with my PS3 and a Panasonic BD player the same price range.
My Setup: Panasonic 50 inch NeoPlasma TV TX-P50GTW60 and Yamaha RX-S600D AV receiver.
Positives:
+ The image of Bluray is super. It is vs. a significant improvement. the PS3 to see.
+ The picture from DVD is probably not improve because DVD is just not HD. The DVD upscaling to HD quality looks but strangely enough the same as the PS3. That has made me suspicious. So I turned off the upscaling, and lo and behold, my Panasonic TV prime-Series it can significantly better. That's why I set the resolution to "Native Disc" in BD-S477. Here, everyone should try it for yourself if the TV or Yamaha player can do better.
+ The volume on the player is much quieter than my PS3. Alone the lack of fan is a blessing. Compared to a current Panasonic player is not felt loud.
+ HDMI CEC work with my Panasonic TV well.
+ It fits visually wonderful for Yamaha AV receiver.
+ The housing is made of metal and the front also looks pretty high.
+ The remote control is quite OK, because Yamaha has already produced worse.
+ The settings are very extensive! You can also force NTSC (60 Hz) and suppress 24Hz for Blurays, which is especially helpful for Panasonic TVs.
+ It has two USB ports, one of them on the back: SUPER! For example, a USB stick remain permanently plugged back without it interfering with the front panel.
+ BD Live 2.0: With a USB flash drive with enough free space, you can install BD Live Apps, eg VideoCiety.
Neutral:
o Those who expect an app store will be disappointed. For me is not a disadvantage, because the player easy to play CDs, DVDs and BDs, and he does great. The player has at the very least and DLNA Miracast.
Negatives:
- On the front there are only buttons for Play / Pause, Stop, Eject, and on-off. Buttons for forward / back there were unfortunately not. Therefore, a star less!
Everyone is looking for a stable BD player, which also still has the width of a stereo device can access safely.
