When this album was released, I had, I believe, still no Internet, or at least not such a modem, which was billed by the minute, so I have time yet written any reviews yet. Like many others here, I was also from this album very enthusiastic, I could at least convince me at "now" nor that Vicky was going to find a new, own style, after a few years the old chestnuts of Jack White new had warmed up (well, some new and some good songs were already there). What they had then thought with this album, I never realized. A few new, interesting little songs and a bunch of very old (at To Treno I even had the feeling that you have not re-recorded the song, but the "I" album simply taken) newly added since I have been wondering , why not have preferred to wait another year and then recorded a new album really. Was nevertheless, basically "with open arms" a typical Vicky album on which again became clear that it has never really found his own style, as they found it on the one hand, inconvenient to be dubbed Schlagersängerin , wanted to be a commercial success on the other hand. This balancing act was also already in their 70s albums instead, where you always had their successful songs (I am annoyed Vicky now times and call "Theo, we are driving to Lodz") with cover versions of songs and pop ballads mixed. And so she sings on "with open arms" songs like "I Just Called To Say I Love You", which does not fit her, "Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart", which has already been interpreted by an endless number of other artists , The old Demis Roussos-chestnut-"Goodbye, My Love, Goodbye" was unnecessarily also recorded in English and German, as if it were, this is a big hit single, which was a hit both in Germany and in England. The admissions of "blue like the sea" and "I love life" rich, as almost always in admissions "not in the least to the originals ran, which is why I find such productions generally unnecessary. The only mini highlight is the first song (" Dance with I - Jealousy ", so probably a cover), who then came out as a radio single. After this album Vicky then brought her grandiose Mikis Theodorakis album out, of course, nothing new, but since they had finally found something that suited her and the CD was then also had as a unified whole and a clear line, without even in being boring and monotonous approach. What came after that, the fans know: again a bunch of admissions, the gruesome Xavier Naidoo album and then again: cover versions of international songs. I'm afraid, since they also now is already 64, that it is now too late for a truly independent, good album that would turn around age-appropriate pop songs primarily, yet should not be too far from the hit. Pity about a really good singer, whose aim it was time to become an international star.
