Very rare arrangements in outstanding performances

This CD contains only arrangements of Bach's St. Matthew Passion. The compilation of recorded works seems to only some getting used to, since all selected tracks at first sight so do not fit for the trumpet. Everything is worn and very Lent accordingly. So no trumpet typical radiant D major, as it is very common in Bach.

A big surprise, however, when listening to this recording. The hitherto unknown to me, Danish trumpeter Dorthe Zielke has on the trumpet, as well as on the flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet a beautiful tone. You know how to use their strengths and plays very espressivo. For me very ungerwöhnlich is also the inclusion of recitatives that are never played in the Bach cantatas and oratorios in the original by the trumpet. All the more impressive the excellent interplay between the two artists. Both are recorded excellent to each other. Cleverly is also the temporary occupation of the pieces with a flute, oboe and violin
This CD is highly recommended. Hopefully there of the two musicians soon further recordings.
