Very varied, summery album

Unlike many others, I'm "only" for about 10 years fan of Mariah and her music, so I'm grown up with the R'n'B sounds of her and could never abgewinnen the ballads from her previous time a lot. What some see as today's problem is that people only like a smattering of songs of their albums, I did with her previous albums (before Butterfly).

But now to the album itself: Their last album I liked, even if you have to admit that almost all of each song were created according to a scheme F: always the same "boom boom chack" -Beat, the end of the song again, the soul cry from the body and end with a whistle as it was the case even at E = MC². Presumably to anzunüpfen to the success of We Belong Together and Do not Forget About Us, based on the same scheme. With Me. I Am Mariah she has finally managed to escape from this scheme. Although they apply it partially still on, eg You're Mine, in most cases, but much more subtle. The Whistles are still included in many songs, but very discreetly in the background. She uses finally no longer the same old beat, but takes a lot of variety, just by simple, character-giving instruments as in #Beautiful, Make It Look Good and Money. Many also complain that they are a long time only "rumhaucht" - yes, that makes them, but I must say that I personally like very much. Is probably geshcmacksache. The first time really noticed that I like, I do not at "HATEU" from the last album. In this album there are the breathy "Goodbye" in One More Try, which I like really good.

As much indeed helped along in her voice, I can not precisely estimate. I've been following since about 2008 really any of her performances on YouTube and have to say that their live performances are really not the yellow of the egg and there's a reason that more and more lip-synched. The problem is not even reaching the tones, but the intonation of her vocal runs. Much sounds wrong and shades are out of place. Why all this Battle Scene? Of this, fortunately, is the album not hear anything. Be it good art or the many times that it has taken to recording - it really sounds good and my fears about a poorly produced album after her second Christmas album on which sounded really alienated very overproduced and technically her voice, especially the Whistles have not been borne out, fortunately.

Indeed, there is only one song on the album, I do not like: Meteorite. Sounds to me too much like an ESC-disco song ... is not mine.

Highlights for me there is really a lot. If I had to make an order of the Top 5:
1. Make It Look Good (harmonica is really varied and sometimes makes you want to summer, the Chorus is exceptional and very catchy)
2. Money (Good Beat, remains very much in the head)
3. Dedicated (Also very gechillter song for summer stays, immediately in the ear (Oh baby you know ....;)))
4. #Beautiful
5. You Do not Know What To Do (interesting building ballad to disco number, is definitely in the ear)

The ballads are all good, Camouflage and Cry missing MMN something distinctive, but - am not anyway so the ballads fan. However, I especially their interpretation of One More Try like (as I said, "Goodbye" s give real goosebumps, without shouting or being gewhistlet).

In summary, I am very relieved that my this album gefällt.Es is really varied and what makes me particularly happy: has many summer numbers, was thus released at the right time! :) As always they will have here in Germany no success, but have the German media she already very torn (I know of no other country that so lurid reports about it) and the music it is also true not the ravages of time. Meanwhile, it is but I think at one point where they must prove something anyone anymore and can make the music that makes them happy. I look forward to the summer with this album! :)
