I own the two EP's and one Devil Live at Rockpalast, and look forward to finally hear a whole album of Blues Pills. And this debut is really lohnend.Allerdings not without a few small concessions.
But first, only the good: High Class Women rocks immediately tidy los.Geradeaus played bass, oppressive guitar chords, pounding drums and cool energetic blues-rock vocals of singer Elin Larsson. Sounds a little bit like Deep Purple with female voice (This does even more often in the course of the album) .And in the style of guitarist Dorian Sorriaux imposes itself anyway on a resemblance to Ritchie Blackmore's game.
Is not no chance then rocking and straight on and bangs actually more than the opener, and also Jupiter here joins well before then with Black Smoke the first time a little better wird.Zumindest something because soon also turns this song ,
River but is really quite relaxing, as well as the following modern soulful No Hope Left for me.
Devil Man is rocking again vigorously and fairly krachig.Astralplane is then an awesome heavy rock number where sometimes even a pinch of Black Sabbath heraushört.Gypsy you're a super gelungendes Cover and Little Sun is a beautiful sensitive conclusion.
So, all good, right? Not quite. So it bothers me a little, the pieces here are represented who were already on the EP's plan, but it bothers me already what you have made of them from einiegen. Because River, Man and Devil Little Sun have strong need to know audible changes that do not really gefallen.Ich'm going to describe them here now not closer, that may indeed everyone simultaneously hear themselves. May be the other likes. I found the EP versions anyway better. So that's it for now with the smears.
Otherwise, even a praise for the sound that is by no means smooth, but but rather the charm of the EP's retains the flat in proffessionellerer quality. Clear he could machnmal might be a bit punchier, but it brings also nothing to mess up the music with such trivialities.
Conclusion: great album, tremendous Mucke, flash and cover. And oh yes, horny DVD.
