For fans of this band SP is anyway a must, because you want to know how it goes, but it is not simply a book what one reads, to complete the series. You read it and you experience again the complete roller coaster of emotions. You get doubts about the "clean slate" from Valkyrie because it is by far not so sympathetic, as in the first volumes. You can tell that she is growing up, this is clearly reflected in the development of their relationship with Fletcher and the affair with Caelan. How this triangle construct ending is surprising, but in the style of the series. Skulduggery is funny as ever. A point in the book when I had to laugh properly follows: "Skulduggery stood among the ruins of what had once been a sofa. Valkyrie raised on eyebrow." I was trying to make up the sofa bed so You Could get some rest, "he Explained, and pointed to the second sofa across the room. "Unfortunately, it would appear thatthat is the sofa bed, and this, apparently, is just a sofa." "Not any more it's not." "Well, yes, now it's a dead bed. It put up a valiant struggle however." "I am sure irs family would be proud." She wrapped herself in a blanket on collapsed into an armchair. "I kill a sofa for you and you go and sit in a chair?" Skulduggery asked. "I do not think you appreciate the sacrifice That has been made for you." # This is just one example of the many funny moments in Deathbringer. In DeathBringer light is also thrown into the "passage" of the Necromancer and in their temple as something will change. In my opinion, Wreath, Tenebrae and his men have been held for too long and finally get in there some action. For China Sorrows Also some will change. I want her character from the very beginning very happy and am a little saddened, but that's no wrikliches shortcoming of the book. The absolute higlight of the book, the battle between the two people on whom one has been waiting since band 4 is just an epic. Only just because of the small content I would buy the book already. As usual ends DeathBringer with some completed storylines, but it's again much open. The novelty with the journalist Kenny (do not worry it is mentioned in the first chapter) I find very well done and brings back neat possibilities for future volumes. Furthermore, already noticed that the mirror image of Valkyrie in the previous volumes has wegbekommen since the assassination a "crack" and in DeathBringer this idea is continued even again. Witzig is that Derek Landy has genutz in band 6 to correct a small error at times. In Volume 4 SP mentioned yes, that he has no bathroom in his apartment, but in Volume 5 USER Valkyrie his shower. In band 6 is mentioned in a subordinate clause that SP specially the shower for Valkyrie has be installed. Of course these are just little things that in no way harm the major content of the series, but I think it shows how committed Derek Landy is to keep his books logical - of course except for the part of the magic;) -
In summary it can be established that the series has not yet reached its peak at SP but is increasing steadily, but still retains his sense of humor. I read quite a few books in English, although it comes with ordinary school English very well by Deathbringer. Once you have read a book by SP in English, then it falls slightly more volumes to read in English. So for all those who for too long have to wait for the German version, the English books are wirklih well understood. I can give a clear conscience a buy rating for Deathbringer. Finally, SP is no mere imitation of Harry Potter, as often alleged, but rather a more mature and too late published alternative to HP. If SP is equal with HP has been published, a much larger hype about SP would also certainly just in Germany arose when it unfortunately is currently the case. This SP is definitely one on the bookshelf and going from band 1 to band 6 (+ volumes that come)
