After the first experiments with the tablet I would like to give my assessment:
Scope of supply:
The tablet comes in a well-designed cardboard packaging. Content:
+ The tablet
+ The stylus
+: USB cable
+ Driver CD and Quick Start Guide
+ 3 Ersatz.Spitzen for the pin (Attention, consumables, depending on use must be re-ordered the tips!)
+ A spare pen holder (textile strap on top of the tray) in black (original cyan)
+ A spare color ring for the stylus pen in black (original cyan)
Design and manufacturing:
The tablet comes simple and elegant, designed and therefore fits nicely into the desktop environment. It consists of a mixture of plastic (underside, frames, hardware keys) and metal (canvas, bottom) and has therefore no processing defects. Overall, it looks valuable and feels like that. It does not feel to keep overpriced cheap Klump in hand.
Features:
Since this is my first tablet, there was a bit of getting used to for me to draw on the desktop and keep track the results on the screen - but the familiarization is very quickly and after one or two hours of drawing, it is as if you never otherwise worked.
The tray has four hardware buttons (two left and two right) in the upper black frame area. These are the software (on [...] available and required for installation) can be freely assigned, eg. As with Alt, Shift, Ctrl and space bar for Adobe users.
The keys are m. M. n. Something unfavorable position, because you have to rely on the drawing hand away partially. Since the Wacom Intuos pro trays (the professional model) better equipped, because the hardware buttons are on the left or right of the drawing area. But that was about the only negative point that I noticed in the tray.
The stylus itself has a two-way rocker, you can assign additional functions, such. As a keystroke or the radial menu that provides an access to advanced features. Furthermore, the stylus comes with a drawing tip on the one hand and opposed therefore an eraser tip. I think that's standard, but practically it is nonetheless.
The tray is 222 mm x 275 mm in size in size M. The pure canvas is slightly smaller than the silver area of the tablet and is marked by 4 small dots. The exact dimensions of the canvas be 215 mm x 135 mm, which corresponds roughly to the DIN A5 format. That may sound low, but enough for beginners and ambitious advanced from perfect.
Function:
Since this is to the Pen & Touch model, both the input via pen, as well as via finger pressure and multi-touch gestures is possible. This is very handy to zoom while drawing with the pen the canvas with your other hand to rotate or move. This all works quite intuitive and fluid.
The pin can be guided safely after a short time and fits comfortably in your hand. The drawing is really fun and you can, thanks to the intuitive operation very quickly lose it and the time forgotten. Simply gorgeous.
Unless you're drawing, can serve as a great laptop touchpad the tray. This means you can hereby also generally navigate using the touch pad. Especially with Windows 8, which is known to be aligned with touch input, which makes after a short time a lot of fun and you can quickly and safely navigate through menus, folders, and applications.
The tray registers the pressure with 1024 gradations, both of the character, as well as at the tip with the input pen. This ranges from more than for the most common applications. Unfortunately, it does not register (!) The tilt / rotation of the input pin that can only the Intuos Pro models as well as slightly more expensive.
Conclusion:
It was a good decision to buy the tray and I regret it no second. I also plan to buy a Pro Intuos tablet if I have expanded my drawing skills far enough. For starters, it does present completely.
On the market are many graphics tablets are available, but in this case it is worth a little more money to put on the table and to invest in the quality of the market leader.
