Before buying I've been looking for in the numerous reviews, but unfortunately found little to which I think is very important on the battery. So here's a small contribution from me: The life of any battery depends on several factors, the most important of course are the quality per se, but we can not control and is discharged and loaded the way as the battery. The latter is a science in itself. Anyone who has ever bought a simple charger for its batteries know that these are advertised with microprocessor control and various final charge shutdowns. Not without reason! Because an overload is permanently certain death for every battery! Likewise, a total discharge should be avoided. The more astonished I was about the statement in the manual on p.5: "Lighting up the charging indicator, the charging is displayed This lights up continuously, ie there is no automatic switch-off, the heating of the device during charging is normal NiMH... - battery pack has no memory effect and can therefore remain permanently connected to the charger. " This statement is absolute nonsense, overcharging leads to heating of the battery and thus to certain death! Whether out of ignorance of the manufacturer or intentionally (planned Obszolizenz), does not matter for me.
Since I am usually very satisfied with the device and have found in this price range is no alternative, I solve this problem so I use until such time as the performance decreases markedly the sucker, add me 'nen mobile alarm and charge the battery then 10 hours (the value can be can be calculated on div. sites on the net).
Since this is extremely annoying and could be solved by a simple disconnection for pennies to manufacture and because of the serious false statement in the user manual, there is of me only one star.
