I, 42, am over 30 years Maffay fan and was very happy on this album. Nevertheless, I have not bought this album, contrary to my usual custom on the first day. Instead, I had a look at the publication date of the tracks on the album that belongs cutouts on AMAZON and to read the various reviews. The tracks on the album were to be expected as 90%. And the titles are on the album, even if it has (not the first), where 10 years ago already a "Best of" album, except for two or three exceptions. But: "All hits from 40s"? In short, the first (big) disappointment! Then the cut-outs on Amazon belongs, the second disappointment! The negative reviews I was able to accomplish so far. Nevertheless, I have, of course, but bought the album and I recommend it any / to buy anyone without a reservation. The album is really strong, the songs often very close to the original version and yet mostly a tad better. Absolutely no comparison to those aspects that could be heard on Amazon. In that regard, I recommend that those who have written their (negative) review on the basis of these cutouts, fully listen to this album at least once. And yet there remains a stale aftertaste. Because it has simply failed Maffay with this album, one to sit down (more than earned) monument and to make many of his critics mundtod. With this album he finally got his musical development can prove to an album from Schlager (without negative feedback, because I live always like to hear the old songs, and they just can include) for serious rock musicians impressive. For a musician of the caliber of Maffay, who can compete with the top names in the live rock industry playing (I have about 400 live in my life - and not only concerts experienced Maffay!), The projects like "TABALUGA" or "Meetings" off the ground, found this album is simple and take too little. Unfortunately, the title of the album does not deliver what it promises! "You" of course belongs on the album, just as "Josie" and "And it was summer." But when I speak of musical development, then just missing titles such as "Saturday night" or "Charlie's people". Or from the album "Your face" a title like "Andy - dreams die young", a song that lies are far above the normal standard pop Maffay even then. What's with titles from the two "Tame & Maffay" - albums? "So you're" is logical, the "Steppenwolf" is missing is not at all understand. Not to mention my favorite "Towards me". "About 7 Bridges" is, of course, "Serendipity" a great surprise, but "revenge" or "Love is prohibited" would also be a must. "Ice Age" is again a matter of course, but the "Dear God", after all, the last Top 10 single, is not represented, is difficult to carry out after. "Nessaja" from the first TABALUGA - Album logical! What a more wonderful song! "Shadow tattooed into the skin" will not please me in the dog first version. Where is the theme song "carom", where the single "Carnival Night"? "Sun in the Night" is again logically, already in original fantastic, in the new version downright awesome. Yes and then !? Where are the songs from "No way too far" (thankfully not "Lower"), "Long Shadows" such. B. "game to your soul", in my eyes a milestone. "Love"? Wrong! The same applies to the albums "friends and prophets" and "X". From the latter album the song would have had "Far Side of the World" in any case on this album. Unforgivable outright that from the (in my opinion the best Maffay album "96") "Do you see the sun is not" missing. What about the two "encounters" - albums? The fact that songs from represented "Loud and quiet" is ok, as were the songs that are represented (at least 2). "Forever" would bearable as the theme song of the last album on this album, if, yes if on this album (at least) 15 more songs would be included. CONCLUSION: The songs on the album are two exceptions really strong, but there was at least twice as many songs that have necessarily had to with on this album. Schade, a double - CD would of made me next to a simple CD, been the least. Not every song has to be re-recorded, many songs were and are still the measure of all things. Perhaps my wish is answered yes to 50.igsten anniversary. Until then, I am looking forward to the upcoming concerts in the winter of this year, I'm going to see how the last 20 years in Nuremberg and Munich. As I said, squandered opportunity and yet a really strong album, which unfortunately far too much good songs have been vorentalten.
