Despite an early blow me, I was quickly lost in the mixed sections. I preferred to put the book before migraine.
Chance having done that I could talk to Stéphane Beauverger, I told him about my problem and my disappointment. He then gave me two reading methods:
1 - You can bother you to read the chapters in the order through the table of contents.
2 - Read without worrying about holding dates, never say: "Flute, this chapter there is before or after the one I just read?". String together the chapters without worry.
I chose the second solution, the best according to the author obviously. And it worked. Indeed, focus on hand whenever the chapters in the order in his head only adds playback. Read without worry about and, quite naturally, like pieces of a puzzle, the story will complete a previously isolated event there will take place in your head.
Where I have a little disappointed is that I expected a sea adventure with fantastic events and rather "magic". Actually this is my nearest point of view of science fiction, a style that makes me less dreaming.
A story of love is very present in the pages. Very discreet, cozy, I found it really beautiful and moving. It does not encroach nor spoils the action narrative. Chapeau!
Maybe not a book for pirate fans. But for fans of SF, it's probably a safe bet.
