it offered the only notebook in this price range, a relatively good graphics card (Radeon 4570).
to a generous storage capacity of 4GB and a sufficiently large hard drive (320GB).
unfortunately was not possible to test on the spot, because I had just searched online.
I then ordered it to good luck, and was unfortunately immediately geteielter opinion.
I grabbed it and flipped it open:
Display = Glossy (glossy)
Processing = Mediocre (keyboard is typing into the case in, not just the button is pressed, the entire unit seems cheap and rickety)
Keypress = ok, volume is at normal level notebook
I jammed on the next power supply and off we went:
the first Vista Start lasted until it was fully operational, around 4 hours away! (Vista updates, ASUS software suite facilities etc).
the device itself is running with fan, but noticeably loud, also it is very warm in the rear area.
you should never put it close to a wall so because the fan outputs on the rear panel.
I wanted to immediately switch to the Vista startup on Windows XP.
and respect now!
who thinks that you simply can insert the XP cd and done, you are wrong!
you simply insert the disc and boots from the CD, it crashes the notebook always with a blue screen
shortly before installation.
Here it is necessary to advance in the BIOS the SATA type switch!
you should get in XP problems with the dual graphics card,
you have to switch to "dual GPU mode" in the BIOS.
Here I have compiled a list of pros and cons:
PRO:
Faster Processor
Fast graphics card
Plenty of storage
Complete keyboard incl. Numeric Keypad
Win7 upgrade program is
Contraindications:
Bad Processing
Short battery life (1 - 1.5 hours)
Glossy Display
Asus Support (no Win7 drivers available)
Recovery DVD (Recovery not working well, some drivers no longer run after that time or can not be installed)
Ventilation (Loud and still powerless)
Keyboard is the device Press
Touchpad (can be operated with fingers only super dry, nothing for the summer)
In conclusion, I would say that I would have prefered to take another notebook,
but for the price you get up quite a bit on offer which also makes sense.
so who appreciate a budget laptop with a lot of speed, makes nothing wrong here.
Who but a lot of emphasis on processing and comfort, should advance strongly
the notebook in a load test.
