We imagine the following situation: It is autumn 1993. The publication of VAN HALENS` FUCK album dates back about 2 years, the accompanying world tour, including the completely overdue stop in Europe, is over and VAN HALEN go into the studio to record the follow the above longplayer (incidentally the overall best of the complete VH Discography) einzuspielen. Suddenly enters Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, the studio and says: "Hey Alex, but let your drums times like a drum, and not as an E-Drum supported Blechkit sound", sits down and shows Alex how to do it. Shortly thereafter Joe Satriani enters the studio and said: "Hey Eddie, with all due respect - but maybe you hear just on time to play the same solos for 15 years and can sometimes influences from outside." The two Van Halen - brothers leave annoyed the studio .... we make a leap in time and find ourselves in 2009 ..... the result of this work is now available. I want to say that inspire me neither the solo stuff of Satriani, yet the music of Chilli Peppers particularly. However, already provide alone the voice of Hagar and the backing vocals by Michael Anthony most tracks a wonderful touch from the heyday of VAN HALEN, who - has been with Hagar and not the vocal borderline wealthy David Lee Roth - without a doubt. In addition, you get the feeling that all 4 participating musicians have thrown their personal skills, their experience and undoubtedly great talent in favor of the "big picture" in the balance. The result is a wonderful ROCK - Album (who says otherwise has not heard the CD) that can be influenced, although of different styles, but never water down. Even Hagars` solo work that I appreciate in large parts is made clear here in the shade. If I were Eddie Van Halen, I'd shoot myself after enjoying this CD - so much down to earth-good music comes out of his house no longer, and Michael Anthony since 1995 now has in Hagar and Chickenfoot also the fun that by since the withdrawal Hagar was no longer possible at VH. The fact that Van Halen, the top bassist Anthony by Eddie - just adult - replace son, then perhaps the ultimate proof that can be expected from this page in the future, nothing. For me, this album CHICKENFOOT the surprise of the year and the men is a far better all-star band as Velvet Revolver. The only annoyance on the CD is the windy Pappfolderverpackung that has no room for a booklet nor a resonable "back" for keeping the CD shelf. The record labels need to really not be surprised that people only piracy, if I get such a low-quality packaging for a great product for my money! The thermal effect that can be seen the CD cover and the tracklist in contact for a few seconds, though is "something else", but practically speaking, total nonsense!
