Otherwise, Movie Edit Pro 2013 behaves just like Video Pro X4 and feels like that. (I just once installed the trial version of VideoStudio Pro X4 for comparison.) Even if one compares the manuals, there are range of functions between these programs, no significant differences that would necessarily interesting for home users.
Video deluxe 2013 therefore benefits directly from the professional software Video Pro X4, which of course represents a certain security for the software an excellent recommendation and for the user.
In addition, Movie Edit Pro in my opinion is on the market the most complete video-editing software for amateur users, the software can really a lot and supports the user in the home, in my opinion, optimal.
For this purpose, so five stars.
And now the other side of the coin ... if, yes if indeed times in Movie Edit Pro 2013 everything would work as intended and described in the manual.
And here is true, unfortunately, in my experience, for all Magix software like: Good thinking - badly done! In plain English: sloppy programming. Examples: Often Video deluxe depends under certain "unfortunate" but unforeseen circumstances on easily and can then be "shot down" only with the help of the Windows Task Manager. (For example, it sometimes but not always happens when a track to end object ("adhere to Video") leaves the screen.)
Other things do not work correctly or do they work sometimes and sometimes not: For example, it's well thought out, that one can choose other programs for an external image and sound editor in the program settings - if this would be for work times: from the timeline out images with Photoshop works to edit externally, but the firing range a menu background or a button object to edit externally does not work - Photoshop opens, but no image is scanned. Even with an external sound editor there are difficulties, even when in-house Video Sound Cleaning Lab or even the brand new Audio Cleaning Lab 2013 (I've tried in the trial): Even if you click only on "edit external" and the forward opening Editor simply again closes completely, the sound object into Movie Edit Pro then lowered (using Video Sound Cleaning Lab) inexplicably in the volume by 6 dB in Audio Cleaning Lab 2013 works! Although this far, but want to edit the sound object a second time, so this will not work because you get the message, the object will already edited externally (although Audio Cleaning Lab is already closed!). ... Huh?
Even the preview monitor causes problems: screwing in or zoom out with the mouse wheel works once, then again not. (And: No, I'm in the operation nothing wrong!) What are you doing?
You can also go for. Example, when zoom or camera movement over photos or videos to the neck move (and so z. B. by keyframe animation a Ken Burns effect produce), and this move will also work with the arrow keys, but well this works out, then again not.
The timeline display also changes all of a sudden time and has no thumbnails or shifts or the whole preview monitor remains black after an action and looks after zoom or Ctrl-double back to normal, and and and.
All this makes working with video deluxe unpleasant and unproductive, because you move, if you work in this program, as it constantly "on tiptoe": Man caught this is that one saves every 10 seconds, because you never know whether the program does not simply hang in the next moment, it constantly monitors whether an action that you have just caused, has also yielded the intended results and whether has also changed so elsewhere nothing else. That's just annoying and makes working with the program tiring and tedious.
Unfortunately, exactly this is generally the main problem of consumer software, and that's no different than with Magix eg with Nero:. Instead of delivering finally stable releases and to fix known bugs or "sites" at last clear up once and for clean up , organized another feature circus with each new version and marketing point, said in German, "a new sow driven through the village", what then on the websites of their respective companies always really great reads and is presented insanely glamorous - be this old errors often verschlimmbessert or features that have always been included, absent at one time or no longer work well - and the paying user is always the loser, because it serves as FREE Beta testers. The agency scene is so little "Banana Software": Reift at the customer! In other words: Outside Hui, inside yuck.
In other words: When you play around a little with it, the program is ok (In other words: for positive assessments by the relevant press that's enough, because really do not work with the software, but only watching you walk in and see a short "what the so anything can ") - but it really works once a video project by order, then sooner or later drop the aforementioned Fehlerchen and error, really annoying and hence very significant, because they impede the workflow seriously.
But I forgive only one star, which then gives three stars on average.
--------------------------------------------------
Here is a brief supplement because my review to come across a lot of encouragement seems (thanks to all!), Namely a small plea for consumer video editing software:
I am, after much trying out the various video editing software, think we (as "amateur filmmakers" or "prosumers") * need * consumer video editing software, since the professional softwares are not only very expensive in this area, but also in general not completely the we need to realize functions: We now even have many assistants for audio dubbing, the Audio Cleaning, Itineraries, and not least for creating DVDs with menus.
So there Magix is my opinion absolutely right with the functionality of Movie Edit Pro, this video is just deluxe apparently unreliable, slow and - relatively cheap.
So we seem to have two alternatives:
(1) software, in the "what" is true (the functions of Movie Edit Pro), but unfortunately the "how" (the software is unreliable and slow) not.
(2) software, in which the "how" is true (it is fast and reliable), but unfortunately the "what" not quite.
What good, as in the case of Movie Edit Pro, a software whose functionality is optimal - if it were, only exists "on paper"?
The software is seen range of functions, well - * best * they would (as a whole) for Prosumer, if they would also be reliable and fast.
*** And now I say something that I might not just make popular:
Such a product that would also be fast and reliable, * must * not necessarily in about 100 "fit" (as Magix seems to think) - for such a product I would personally pay twice, * if * I supposed the guarantee would have it what it should do and do quickly and reliably.
(And the product "Video Pro X" from the same home helps here, unfortunately, in any way further, for, as the reviews of this software only to clearly show suffers Video Pro X at exactly the same problems as Movie Edit Pro.)
