What is expected of all hard disk ...

I think an assessment made upon acquisition is inappropriate for a hard drive, since it is expected mainly of such a device is its reliability over time ... it does no sense to evaluate a DD for at least a few months of use.

As for me, my personal experience is clear: after just 1 year of moderate use (playback video / mp3, storing various files ...), the disk is already showing signs of ill health: time Longer, access, and especially certain files have simply been erased, the sectors are probably defective ... In yet I am very careful, DD has never fallen or received any physical shock.

I really am concerned about the reliability of external DD generally a previous WD had dropped me there 2/3 years and this one was clean power supply. While parallel, my internal HDD works perfectly despite his past 5 years of use.

In any event, I think now I will ignore all WD products, and I will try other brands, and the SSD.
