I do not know when my last album of a band's staying on really every single song has catchy. And I'm not talking only of catchy and slow ballads, but of fast-paced and danceable synthpop beads where you just can not sit still.
With the first single 'Born To Lie' mesh have already made it clear what direction is taken on 'Automation Baby'. The expectations of fans were therefore from the beginning very high, and one can say without hesitation that they are even exceeded.
The opener 'Just Leave Us Alone' is guaranteed to fill any dance floor with his treibenen beats and catchy chorus. The here and there built Dubstep elements proving once again that have lost none of their experimentation the band around Mark Hocking and Richard Silverthorn.
'Taken for Granted' is another classic Mesh Track, which is presented by Mark with slightly aggressive voice and will be at the end sure singing along to the anthemic 'I need to start again, take me far away' from each fan at the upcoming Tour ,
Next also 'You Want What's Owed To You' ensures no break and one wonders secretly as mesh create again and again to create such catchy songs.
With 'Automation baby' finally, the song which gave its name to the album. Did I mention that this is a catchy tune? This song is nice to hear how mesh manage to get through fast and slow, loud and soft passages bored. Yes "That's Automation Baby"!
Finally given us' AB Incidental No. 1 'a short break. However, the short instrumental piece is barely enough to reduce our pulse, because soon follows with 'This is the Time' another mesh anthem. Yes you can say with complete justification, that 2013 will be the year of mesh. I am already looking forward to the upcoming tour.
Hey, what's this? 'The Way I Feel' is a true ballad. Something you would hardly expect from mesh. And what a. I can only say that I get goose bumps every time I hear this song. If there were to report because something negative, it would be the fact for me that those quieter songs are sown quite rare, although in these the voice of singer Mark Hocking can boast top form.
'Adjust Your Set' is a song that seems like a plate with a crack. It begins slowly, then increases and finds its climax in the chorus, only to immediately break back and the whole game starts over. But at least now he has taken each and you have to move along to the beat.
Finally comes with 'Born To Lie' the song, which on every concert certainly doing his will. I'm just saying: 'Hey!'.
'The road to loneliness is knowing When to go to bed.' And we will certainly not do, even if now following the second short instrumental interludes piece.
'Flawless' is another aggressive and powerfully carried forward song whose text somehow reminds me of Erasure. no idea why.
Slowly we approach with 'Never Meet Your Heroes' the end of the album. The piece falls a bit quieter than the rest and want to convince us that it is better to keep his dreams and not to make its own idols, because it involves only normal people. The risk of being disappointed is too big.
'When The City Breathes' is one of my secret favorites on the album. Another classic Mesh Track. Another catchy, I'll probably not in the next few days off. But who wants that?
Hey! Who would have thought that the time and a total of 14 songs go by so fast. The title 'You Could not See This Coming' describes quite accurately, as it was made in this one last song on the album. A genuine pearl has been hiding in the back, just to say goodbye with another highlight. Another ballad that takes your breath away.
For me, and remain one of the biggest and best mesh synthpop bands of our time, which reinvent themselves again and again and still remain true to their strengths.
Automation baby is certainly the highlight of her career so far and the question remains: 'What is to come now?'
