A wonderful album that resurrects a bygone world virtuoso in perfect sound quality. These musicians Istanbul (Turks and Greeks) refer to the time of passing away the Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th century. Music, as in Istanbul (then Constantinople Opel) and Izmir (then Smyrna) was omnipresent in the nightlife, and brought the Greeks, who had to leave the country after the Greek-Turkish war in the harbor dives of Piraeus. This music conveys love, suffering, longing, beauty, melancholy and much more. Yes all that this cultural melange is here noticeably. The only thing you could wish for to this music, are Meze (meze), Raki (Ouzo) or Greek (Turkish) coffee.
