Fact is nunmal: It makes a hell of fun. With such simple materials not half bad VR feeling is mediated.
One should always keep in mind, which is converted here just using some cardboard and plastic a smartphone to a VR goggles. That this can not function without smears, should be clear.
The biggest problem here is probably the latency between head movement and camera movement - the Oculus Rift team has not nothing much research and prototyping spent on it to come up with its optimized variant therefore.
Also critical it may be that you can not influence the viewing distance and the lens positions, resulting in a not very homogeneous and fatigue-free viewing.
But honestly: craft knife and adhesive tape and some cardboard has any self at home and can enjoy themselves here.
I for one am thrilled and can now better assess what I can expect from the Oculus Rift.
Also unique is now for me, I have to have the Oculus once it appears on the market!
Alone after an evening playing around with cardboard, I can already assess the potential, which I previously, despite a lot of imagination was hard.
My advice: look for 3D videos on Youtube, and with the Youtube app (not the Cardboard app) play and watch with glasses.
Also great act 3D photos.
Flying around in Google Earth is more fun than you might think. Even if the quality of the map data in close-up leaves much to be desired.
I am hooked on my part and can not wait the development of VR accessories.
