Takumi is a young widower who lives alone with Yûji his six year old son. His wife, who was swept away by the disease quickly made him a promise that she would return to the rainy season. This is a somewhat difficult commitment to keep but Takumi thinks there constantly, while his small focus turns big mess. And the first day of the wet season, the promise is realized because Mio is there, quietly waiting at the edge of a clearing. Only downside to this return, Mio has lost his memory. Takumi therefore sets about telling him their story, their first meeting this hasty end. It is touching to follow the couple who tamed again, who learns to love him while the son gets used to this unexpected return. Her mother was given him and he plans to spend even more time with her accomplices. It also has it in their close environment, the teacher Number, a family friend, who they love and who converse does not seem surprised by this new chance given to all. Life is peaceful, the son continues his daily passions: collecting nuts, bolts and nuts, while the father plunges back into a past where everything was not always easy between them (what a story that combined experience of relatives !).
I must admit that the summary of the book had me somewhat enticed. Because it seemed inconceivable that a young woman can come back to life and regain her daily, as if nothing had happened (who would not dream of an eternal?). Except that the magic happens and the situation seems to be normal over the gradual reintegration, Investment Mio with two men in her life. As Yûji, son, we sincerely hope that the mother will stay with them in this family atmosphere so balanced and harmonious. However, we see shatter the days and the rainy season winds down irretrievably. What will happen when the good weather will come back? Will the hearts set fair? The text is alternately turn sensitive, strong and moving. The trio follows that there may be banal but it is nonetheless extremely loving and brave, in the many ordeals. I confess, my tears are mounted at eye because poetry was never far away and also the great upheaval.
A first novel while happiness and conveys a positive energy! You want to enjoy the people you love even more when reading experience that family!
