As Death Cab fan I try to remain as objective as possible in the following, however I guarantee anything .. we remember: After "Transatlanticism" Death Cab moved from an indie label to a major record label, plus the "abuse" of the group by the OC series .. it was bitched and screamed in a great deal recently. Here DCFC was finally simply attributed what they deserve. Plan did not sound as good as its predecessor (the plate was personally not so promised me like Transatlanticism), the band remained true to himself, sounding at best a bit more optimistic than before. With Narrow Stairs now a different direction is taken. Guitar Driven and rougher sounds the album, in the first track is strummed a few seconds. However, Benjamin Gibbards voice adapts perfectly to the previously unfamiliar acoustic background and thus forms as is often the core of the songs. Those lucky enough to hear the single "I Will Possess Your Heart" already on the radio (unfortunately in an unspeakable shortened version), so you can make a rough idea of what style turns the album. Of course, the album has again quiet moments, the basic mood is still a little gloomy. Death Cab For I set the focus, especially in the texts. I love the way emotions are being taken at the point exactly in words. I know of no other band whose pictorial language so vivid and authentic acts like this. Narrow Stairs is perhaps not quite as homogeneous as my favorite album Transatlanticism, but also with the new record, I was not disappointed.
Buy and listen in peace from start to finish! And love!
