As a fan of early seasons I have always followed the series and wanted to see the piece of the series times.

Basic constellation:
Dexter Morgan is different. He is a psychopath and has to kill the urge. When his father, a highly respected police officer, learned this he needed him in a code. He can only kill people, if they really deserve it and they can not be taken by the judiciary. According to this code, he lives at night and on the day he clarifies when blood specialist, cases for the police.
No one knows of his double life and he leads a sham relationship with the mother of two Rita Benz. This is psychologically unstable since her ex husband has beaten several times and it does not recognize that Dexter does not love her and no interest has to get closer to her.
But one day turns up a new mass murderer, whom Dexter fascinated. Can Dexter catch him or is this to him, perhaps even superior?

Development of the series:
The series of murders is paved. It can happen to anyone, even popular actor.

- Dexter Morgan has to kill the urge and enjoys it formally when executing a murder. Thanks to the code of his father, he uses his "gift" to do "good". His thirst for blood is manifested in his profession and the trophies, a drop of blood, which he collected from his victims.

- Debra Morgan is the sister of Dexter and also policewoman. She has not done a Goss language and a penchant for men fine.

was initially the weakest wheel of the troops but better from season to season. The internal conflicts which it is exposed in later seasons show how much they improved the acting.

Julie Benz / Rita Bennett (also known from John Rambo, Buffy, Desperate Housewives, No Ordinary Family)
plays a vulnerable woman who comes away gradually about her past. Acting-wise, it offers a good performance here.

Image and sound:
on the picture and sound are nothing really to complain about. It is not both outstanding but on good level.

Planned and round end ?:
The end is final, since the last season from the start as the final was announced. Unfortunately, the station gave the makers some guidelines to end, so that the makers could not turn its planned end. The conclusion is very disappointing.

Today recommended?
Yes because the series to date is something completely new and has shown next to Breaking Bad that the hero of a series can also be a bad guy.

Interesting:
- Dexter used as a code name in a database Patrick Bateman. This is the main character from the movie / book American Psycho.
- Michael Hall and Jennifer Carpenter fell in love during filming and were married. After 3 years, she divorced again.
- Dexter managed to set up the quota record of his home station Showtime. Previously this was a boxing match from Mike Tyson.
- Most Dexter episodes Rated 16. But there is in every season at least one FSK scored 18.
- Michael C. Hall never won an Emmy despite 5 nominations. Usually he had to admit defeat from Breaking Bad Bryan Cranston.

In short:
A series which repeatedly highlight squadrons has nevertheless also uninteresting. The work of art would be a worthy conclusion to the series more successful and so remains a stale aftertaste. Despite this mass murderer should times a chance.
