Someone wrote that the game would be graphically brown-in-brown, someone else thought it would be brightly colored, another complained about manga graphics, some magazines claimed there were too many glossy effects. We play completely on Ultra with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Everything is consistent and the game lets Skyrim look clearly old. All Charaktäre see lifelike, it shine only surfaces which are also shining, armor are after the fighting with blood splattered etc ..
Another major criticism of many players had or has control. Granted, we will also find them here and there failed a little. So we are still only running, sometimes walking instead forced the PC at the time, to move through the world. Also the tactic mode affects complex than its predecessors because obstacles such as ceiling and treetops are not hidden and too wide zoom out using the mouse wheel is enough to activate this unintentionally. But that's all nothing really serious and possibly fix it by a future patch.
Technically, the game runs flawlessly. For us not a single crash (-> today, unfortunately, but, see below). Since there are very different title that much more unstable ran in release and were unfinished. Those who have problems, should definitely upgrade once their drivers and possibly also defragment the LW once, where the game was installed.
Dragon Age: Inquisition makes in our eyes actually already everything right. The presentation is mature, the menu navigation logical and clear, sound excellent, the graphics and cutscenes detailed atmospheric. The quests match the story and fun. So what you want more?
What's actually been somewhat meager, although other games did not do better, is the character editor. A few hairstyles and more options would not have hurt. The missing a day and night cycle, can get over. The previously unseen weather effects were limited to a little wind and a few snowflakes. There might well have been a bit more.
To make a long story short: all in all a really successful game that you should look at least once.
Edit from 01 December 2014: occasionally it now came with us also to crashes in the cutscenes. But these are so rare that you can not fix on any field or a particular situation. Meanwhile, we now got to face also some other weather effects, rain, fog, thunderstorms, etc. incl. A snowstorm. These are all nicely done, but look compared to other titles a little static as it does not start spontaneously.
As for the menu, the crafting and the Inventory: in principle is all there. However, after so and so many hours of play you have the impression that other games of the genre would have (in terms of clearer and more accessible) dissolved in advance any better. Etc. One way items in a box store, take it to carry around all the time with him, it is not o are apparently also. We have not yet discovered.
All in all it remains the positive overall impression. Dragon Age: Inquisition is a great game.
