So first of all, it needed some gimmick around in BIOS until the drive has also been recognized by Linux (on Windows 8 there were fewer problems). So if it does not function, first of all try all options in the BIOS. Otherwise, it works with my 10 year old about Philips burner. However, it provides a start delay of about 15 seconds immediately after the boot menu before the other operating system is booted. Both Windows, and Linux. When you start Windows by Grub bootloader, it often happens that the system indeed starts in the background, but only a gray screen appears. After disabling the adapter there are no more problems. Since there are slimline BluRay burner already for just over 50, I will soon change, because the delay annoying already properly.
So why 3 stars? It is not an easy task to transport an IDE signal of an old drive to a brand new motherboard via SATA. According to my research on the internet, there is an adapter that works reliably and without any problems. This works here (with a correctly configured BIOS), but in the long the wait is when you start too annoying.
