Now I've done to test the effort to support Emsi.
The company is based in Austria, has a German website and a .com address. Since I assume that even in Austria even German is spoken. Far from it, because on a request came the terse reply in English.
I reported the company. Emsi of nine software titles, where the Emsi software outputs an obvious hoax and detects a presumably non-existent Trojans. In order not to unnecessarily obscure the employee life I hung equal the download links to the relevant programs, since these are freely available on the Internet.
On the same day came the quick answer, of course, in English. I was to send them along the files in email attachments. Apparently means a click on a download link to a lot of effort.
That would be at nine programs at the 50MB data appendix. When my Internet connection from South America to send would take about 4 to 5 hours. That's why I initially sent only one program per email attachment. That was on 09/02/2012.
Three days later, on 12.02.2012 I then got an answer that it is a 'false positive' was, and the error will be corrected in the next update of the virus signatures.
7 days, and some updates later the false virus warning is still issued and blocked the program in question.
The only thing left to me; Now you know even with Emsi the software is free from viruses, but of little use as long as the software that understand not / can.
Especially with a security software a quick response is paramount in my understanding. Especially when you know that 'clean' software will continue to delete from the client computers, mind among customers of Emsi who pay annually for so that they are up to date. I like it I hardly imagine what happens on the computers when working with new viruses even with this 'speed' and 'reliability'.
I'm going to reinstall definitely an anti-virus software that works well. Luckily, there are the also still.
Addendum:
Now a month has passed, time to look again if Emsi has sought finally the famous 'False Positive' to remove.
Unfortunately, everything has remained as it was. A new complaint at Emsi ended with the short message in broken English that I should buy myself a höherwetiges product from Emsi because since the False positve would now removed.
I think that even for an absolute impudence! Bring scrap for not little money to the man and to say with complaints one should already invest a little more money for a working software!
