My first guess was that the signal would be greatly attenuated by the distributor. I had already given the order for a signal amplifier, when I noticed that the TV set, which was attached to another cable at the same distribution on all channels had picture perfect.
So I dug out old, much longer, coaxial cable and wired my device again from the distributor away. I could hardly believe my eyes - picture perfect, super signal.
I can not rule out, of course, that the cable in someone else perform adequately. For my purposes, however, they were worthless. This is something I've never seen ... the cable I had suspected as a last resort as a problem ...
