20 years later, the friend Keziah is indeed still on the road. Although it tends to be on the vehicles and not on the inside (see the cover!), He rolls his hump here and there, and this new album comes out.
The first conclusion that imposes itself is that, with increasing age (well, he's only 45, not exaggerate!), Mr Jones has considerably mellowed. No more frenzied rhythmic Blufunk Is A Fact!, Finished abducted tempos and songs aggressive limits Liquid Sunshine. "Lunar" is making a very pretty melody, song, "Falling" and "Laughter" gives the melancholic. And to close the album: "Praise", a song that would not have denied Robert PALMER, who liked to mix genres ... Neither slow nor gospel, this title yet swaying stretches for more than 6 minutes and makes a strange feeling: no one has the feeling of listening to the "Blufunk!"
The CD begins though very well, with "Afronewave" and his unstoppable refrain. But soon, the album runs out of steam a little and takes a turn which I did not expect.
In conclusion, I would say that this album is finally in line with the previous, Nigerian Wood. I'm mostly a tad disappointed that Keziah Jones has not put more pace in this new opus. Missing it, I think, a good dose of extra power ....
