Dan Simmons still blew me away with this book that offered me a great time playing. The author offers we again a story, mixing people from history, police and fantastic, really controlled from start to finish and surprising. Nothing is left to chance in this book and the characters are really consistent, human and really complex and dense. The author's pen is complex and neat and the pace is slow and yet I enjoyed each of the 880 pages of this book.
