When I heard about this project for the first time, I was thrilled. I'm a big fan of Night Of Hunters and found the idea that Tori would now work with a full orchestra, a logical continuation only. The result, however, unfortunately, is very mediocre.
First: At the shooting in itself is nothing to complain about, it is not as if anyone here plays poorly or bad singing (although with Toris increasingly strangely expectant pronunciation something goes on the cookie and it determines good did it, something deeper to sing) , the arrangements and song selection are unfortunately mad unexciting.

For Gold Dust Tori has put together songs that already had a string arrangement of the house. According to the sound recordings here more or less as the originals also. And why should I buy a CD with songs that I more or less already own, as amended?

What I would have liked would be a little more courageous choice of songs, songs like Suede or Me And A Gun, Concertina, lust, Bouncing Off Clouds, anything that does not sound after an orchestral piece in the original. Then I would have liked that one grants the orchestra more space, new instrumental passages, brief interludes, maybe even a few reminiscences of classical orchestral pieces, which are interwoven with Tori's songs. One last gripe: Tori's singing. Not even the way she sings, but her voice was recorded.
