The Violin Concertos Rv171 Imperatore, 181, 263, 271, 327 & 331 (CD)

Customer Review

Vivaldi is registered, his Four Seasons concertos for mandolin or other, are not there for nothing.
The sheet music for violin were long neglected, apart from a few interesting moments (Menuhin or Anne Sophie Mutter for example) with sometimes very academic readings (Claudio Scimone for example) and far removed from canons "baroqueux" current.
The prowess of this fourth installment of violin concertos by Naïve is a real success, the better a masterpiece. Just to be convinced to go directly to the place of the CD 10 (Allegro RV 271) and discover all the spirit of these wonderful recordings. This rare ability to move from a collected form, intimate, to the wildest extravagance virtuoso moment later, (for example hear the allegro RV 327 instead of 15).
The miracle probably lalchimie perfectly controlled partitions between very demanding, often requiring absolute virtuosity, always fundamental tempis in Vivaldi (RV 391 Allegro), and the right balance between the orchestra and the solo violin.
In this game, management and violin Riccardo Minasi reveals prodigious. He can be present without crashing, he can be virtuous without excess, with humility, which is rare, finally the formation Pomo d'Oro It is admirable in its perfectly balanced game. Contrasts (another brand of Vivaldi factory) are so well rendered (Allegro RV 263a) that one wonders how one could miss this before.
Small bonus: two alternative versions of the allegro of the RV 181, which proves to be stronger about all the work of interpretation.
I put these concertos without hesitation and performers at the same level of Fabio Biondi and Giuliano Carmignola.
In the series of five discs burned Naïve relating to violins concertos, this one is for me by far the best, a true masterpiece!
And nothing to spoil a superb miking (recordings made in 2011).
