There are some good aspects to Simpsons - The game, but even as an evening TV show viewers of The Simpsons you consider seriously here, this has paid off?
I answer that with a clear Yes and no.
Plus points:
+ Original voices for the main characters (Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa) and most minor characters (eg, Moe, Selma, Chief Viggum ...)
+ Very funny, attractive special abilities (Homer can he -if enough munched HAT transform into a giant feeding ball and smash everything by rolls; margins commanded by Megafon partly a incited group of up to 8 man; Lisa plays the hand of God and can be made by telekinesis moving objects or crush enemies; Bart turns into the well-known "Bartman"
+ Funny dialogue
+ Well crafted cutscenes in real, long-known TV cartoons graphics
+ Versatile missions: sometimes you have to Donkey Kong in the game matrix chase, beat up a Mr. Schar malicious dolphins and overthrow their king, or the cowardly French, the white flags steal from the rooftops to the city from hostile takeover to preserve
+ Nice secondary objective: collecting hidden bonus items - for Lisa are Malibu Stacey marks for margin discount vouchers for Bart Krusty brands and for Homer Duff Drink Coaster. If you have collected all of a level, you can watch a nice little picture in the "Item-cabinet" of each character
+ Here I have to disagree with one of the previous speakers, caching is possible if you do it manually via the menu, you start at exactly at the point where you left off!
Minuses, these are indeed little, but unfortunately spoil it all the more fun the whole game ...:
- As already mentioned several times: the camera work! Manual very stubborn when readjusting, and automatic camera is mostly absolutely useless if you have, for example, levels in which you need a lot of jumping
- Control: partly also quite stubborn. I had the feeling that sometimes the characters react too slowly or not at all, I express jumping, but he jumps too late, I express shooting, he shoots too late or not at all ... and no, my controler is not broken! ;)
- Missions sometimes too long: just when I can collect bonus items, I wish rather short, but more missions. So it is not too boring, if I again play a level, because I have not yet found all the items. (But that's a matter of opinion)
Conclusion: If these distinctive camera and control issues have not been, would Simpsons - The game I get 5 stars. With today's technical possibilities and at a price of 40 euros upwards such defects in my opinion should not be!
