Good game but a far cry from a real rally game

The game contains several race modes and competitions like Rally, Trailblazer, Rallycross - known from DiRT2, Gymkhana is new and is a freestyle mode where you must lie down particularly clever drifts with his car. It is played with different goals - times against the clock, time points etc. It is something new instead of drift racing. But one thing first: I am not a fan of drift racing. Therefore, it is' nen nice feature, but I did not need. I consider the game as a rally game. Who is on drift racing, for this review could not be more helpful !!!

Continue to do in events consisting of up to 4 races. For each event you get points to unlock further events. What I'm missing is a real championship. There you go in many areas in several stages and at the end the results are combined. In DiRT3 but you can only drive an event with a maximum of 4 ratings. Championship there is not really. Something like the WRC or example. Rally Dakkar, that would be awesome. This includes the repair between the special stages. Is not there also. After each race, the car is 100% fine. In Dirt 1 there were the times. On Fahrzeugtuning kan be changed only a little. Shaft height, braking etc. just like in DiRT2. It shifts a regulator. More detailed analysis would be useful. What I lack is the choice of tires! There are finally various weather and daytime conditions. Absolutely awesome! But that it would be even hotter, it would have to behave like real weather. In reality it happens that rain is announced to a probability of 70%, but not a drop falls from the sky. In the game, which would increase the tension when the weather changes during the race times. Between the start and finish the weather remains constant. Would it be the dynamic voltage is larger. With tire choice that would mean I now choose the extremely knobbly tires or designed something more to speed? I miss them a lot!

On average, every 4th race on snow. In poor visibility conditions the passenger is worth gold, but not in every race you have him. For each race mode, there are a good number of vehicles. Taking all together there are 50 different models. However, a single stadium truck and buggy were only ever built. I think that's enough. In DiRT2 there was a lot more to choose from, which one certainly could have taken over. Otherwise there are the cars from Subaru, Mitsubishi, Ford, Citroën etc. Genuine vehicle names and detailed models. Very good! What is missing is information about the vehicles. Only weight, horsepower and Power are indicated. Data such as acceleration, handling and final speed are entirely absent. One has no idea which car is as well. An absolute no-go for a racing game!

The biggest annoyance for me is that the focus lies entirely in DiRT3 to the sponsors. Man chooses a sponsor for an event. One can indeed take a worse Sponsor favor of another car, but in principle the car is in the background. That carries over for the race. In the results table is as "Ken Block - Monster Energy". What was that for a car is not there. But that would be very important for the assessment of how much the other cars are especially since it yes as I said is no comparative data. An implementation like grid would have been much better for the gameplay. There one looks for his car, selects a paint and brings to the advertising, giving it additional money.

Both the graphics and the sound are great. Nature, the weather and the cars are good. The engine noise appear realistic and the environment is fun. On top of that there are speakers who say after the race or in the menu what if something happened. The fans, the thing! Merely that you constantly want to upload to Youtube annoying. I have not yet tested this feature.

The controls are exactly the same as its predecessor. All keys can be set, one learns the driving style quickly and still can set the intensity of the vibration. What you can not define is how sensitive is the control were.
