The CD starts with a rather unspectacular something very free version of Mario Bros. theme but go into Track 2 then really took off with a rousing version of Mario 64 theme, great! Right after that comes the great Mario Bros. Medley, which is already suspected as a mixture of the three main melodies of the NES original. Everything of course with the swinging Big Band, the real power in the pepper pieces.
However, the next two pieces are something unnecessary: The first track is an acapella version of Mario Bros. theme and unfortunately not good, because in many places the tones are skewed to the right The next track is a sung version of Mario Bros. theme , Actually quite cool, my only problem is that there was now listening to the same piece four times already. Had at least spread the tracks, but then one has about ten minutes the same piece in succession, even for me who loves this music, it will eventually monotonous and loses energy.
Then there is finally something else with Mario Bros. 3 Ending and the great Athletic theme of Yoshi's Iceland 2! Yoshi On The Beach will be a little quieter, it then goes up with Zelda going.
The Wind Waker Medley is really beautiful and shows what this Big Band is capable of, but also the theme of Dragon Roost Iceland is wonderful to listen to the beautiful Violnenparts. Then in between there, the main theme of Mario Sunshine, again rhythmically, quickly and to hum along. Epona's Song is again sung titles (for the most part, anyway). Beautiful and somehow melancholic, although I would have liked even a pure instrumental version.
Then we have two rather unusual Zelda Title: Zora band of Majora's Mask and Goron Theme from Ocarina of Time. I like very well, just because there are pieces that are so no longer has the ear. The Big Band brings out there a lot. Then you continue with the great and almost Samba moderate Shop Theme, a wonderful title to the Arrangement.
The Ocarina of Time Medley picks up and gives us the famous Zelda music with great moments from the N64 classic. With the ending theme from Mario Sunhsine then go again right now and with the slide Music from Mario 64, the CD is well finished (again a great, catchy track!)
No doubt this is a great selection of titles from the Nintendo universe, but I just do not have a lot of pieces. Just by several Mario Bros.-pieces is a lot of space lost that could have been significantly better fill. What about Mario Bros. 2 or the main theme from Mario Bros. 3? What about Mario World, the two Game Boy titles or with so many other pieces of Zelda? The Gerudo Valley would have been perfect, or something from Link to the Past And what ever is with other Nintendo milestones such as Donkey Kong Country, F-Zero or Kirby? I am aware that you can not put everything on a CD, but can involve my opinion ignored despite exhausted 75 minutes a lot of music that could have been perfect
Conclusion: An absolutely great CD, no question! Nintendo fans will have fun, just those that love the music of Koji Kondo, will come at their expense. Especially the jazz genre or Big Bands are perfect for this kind of music. A successful selection of pieces that even more extensive, however, would have been, in my opinion. If there are more big of this band, then bring it on! Nevertheless, the arrangements of the items are fantastic and are also suitable for people who just love to love peppy music!
