Bought in a comprehensive approach to weight loss, this small Fitbit One - no bigger than a small USB key - allows me to quantify calories daily, throughout the day. One begins the game quickly to "do his feet" by taking new paths and that lengthen a little distance, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
Beyond this playful side that ultimately quickly becomes a (good) habit, he daily real use by quantifying the calories burned, allowing to adjust its meal result. For example, it integrates perfectly with MyFitnessPal, which is a little mirror and its fine enough to encrypt its absorption of calories. This way, you can set light daily caloric deficit to lose weight, or choose to make the balance to maintain it, without falling into excess untenable in the long term, too demotivating, and simply bad for health.
I've had no problem either with the "real" physical activities carried out in parallel and measured by other means. For example foot races Runtastic recorded with (or Endomondo etc ...) or swimming sessions recorded with a Garmin Swim watch, are inserted naturally instead of Fitbit One of the measures in these slices of Use , which does not distort the measurements, double counting "sports" calories for example.
In terms of format, I long asked myself a bracelet (like Flex wife) or one. In the end I'm very happy with this choice. It is not more discreet, I carry it in the pocket of the trousers altogether. Just a habit in the beginning to not forget the morning. Never with any "jewel" (neither curb nor alliance, just watch "dressed" sometimes) I would probably not very long supported a bracelet "sport", whether is be in comfort or aesthetics . From this perspective, everyone's preferences. It is also richer in features than Flex (altimeter to measure floors, screen ...) and failure to wear the arm avoids unnecessary to count not waving his arms during a discussion led by example. :)
I had a few cases where he counted the floors too, eg once during a car ride with very dynamic sections of bumpy road in open country. But overall it's more reliable, and even if a few floors plant one day, that is without significant effect on the count of calories.
Autonomy: a big highlight, it takes 2-3 weeks (at least two times longer than a Flex). In fact I rebooted once after 10 days as a precaution although it still posted a half load. 12j have passed since and it still appears at half load. Good point because the goal is to bring the 24/24 so there is less maintenance, the better.
Finally, the sleep function and vibrating alarm clock: gives some indication of the quality of its nights (incidentally can accurately see how (s) hour (s) baby took his bottle or breastfeeding, parents will appreciate ... ) and the awakening is gentle. I would have appreciated some-thing a little more sophisticated like a deep sleep analysis, REM, etc ... and to set the alarm clock on sleep stages in a defined time window, as do other devices . But it is well to awareness of the (lack of) sleep ...: p
Overall, very satisfied with this little Fitbit One that has done its job, and discretion.
Real help to improve their lifestyle and get motivated to do so over time.
