The Walimex Pro LCD Viewfinder comes neatly packaged, along with a longer strap with clip (so that it can be hung around the neck when not in use) and the adapter plate for mounting on the tripod screw the camera. The supplied eyepiece cup can be rotated so that using the left or right eye is possible. Big enough and conformable shields the eye cup even in strong sunshine reliably. The view through the eyepiece provides a bright, clear and distortion-free image with good magnification, which can be focused by means of a rotating ring. The size of the rectangular tube fits well with the 3-inch display and the feel of the plastic material used makes a solid, not "shaky" impression. Now the negatives: The adapter plate for mounting is partially riveted and not cleanly deburred, so that risk of injury to the fingers can be made. The attachment of the tube to the adapter plate by two thinner plastic tabs, which appear to be poured or injected along with the barrel of one piece. The tabs are inserted into the adapter plate and secured with a small, thin thumbscrew. Both the tabs as well as the thumbscrew act fragile, and have to prove whether they survive a continuous use, or break even after a short period only. The major drawback for me, however, was that not specified how big the maximum distance between the middle and the tripod screw attachment point is for the tabs. In the Sony A77 is through the joint below the rotatable display, this distance is not big enough, so that the correct mounting is not possible. For this reason, I had unfortunately to return to Viewfinder, otherwise I would keep him happy.
