I personally (may be that someone else does not see it) think that it has very good optical performance and produces a very nice bokeh background blur. I still have the 35 1.8 with which I do not like to take pictures. It is also an excellent portrait lens, especially with Aperture 1.8 for cropping. But beware necessarily manually set the focus point at f 1.8! Otherwise it happened to you that have your best photos in which only the ears are sharp ;-) Absolute buy recommendation
