Actually, I'm not a fan of "cheap" products, have told me after studying the reviews: you can not go far wrong with the price. Unnecessary weight such as a VoIP telephone system, Print Server, etc. were not important to me because I perform as video conferencing and VoIP via Lync. The 3-in-1 combo houses ADSL2 + modem, 4-port NAT router and wireless N access point. The performance required in ADSL provides a chipset vendor Trend chip. Compared to products based on 11g protocol, the wireless LAN standard IEEE 802.11n allows up to 15 times faster and up to five times the range. The TL-W8961NB support QoS, allowing a smooth and liquid VoIP / IPTV streaming or just "web conferencing".
That is the theory.
After unpacking the installation after a little more than 5 minutes was fully configured and ready for action! I was very surprised. The configuration simple, the network provider is automatically assigned by profile ID and password text box that the software does the rest. Even changed the SSID chosen WPA2-PSK as encryption, key - Ready!
The router has a very extensive configuration menu and offers a variety of settings (if you need it; for the layman, the default settings are sufficient). The wireless range is very good and surpasses by Linksys (Alt) device that I had to run with repeater! The DSL performance is significantly better than the old equipment, because obviously the integrated modem is better (damping, CRC errors, etc., will all appear).
Even online games are easier to perform because the router port forwarding (port forwarding) must not be set to the IP of the host computer. This happens automatically.
Contrary to the information in previous reviews a cable for the different formats RJ is annexed. Here the manufacturer has probably improved. The Quick Start Guide is multilingual and thus realize even for non-English reading easier.
The stored on the mini-CD more detailed manual is completely in German.
The small button on the front router is a nice feature to also save yourself typing the wireless keys, when connecting via WiFi with your router. A timer function that the WiFi is turned on within a predefined time out and back-to-date (and I would not have expected for the price).
To increase the satisfaction of yet: SmartTV, HD video streaming from my Media Center PC - all without reproach (devices Panasonic Blu Ray recorder / player and Loewe Art TV).
In summary, I can say that the Wi-Fi router with ADSL modem is more than adequate and has more power than I expected.
