I'm writing this review now time for all people who like me and goes in search of "headphones are". Ok, first of all you have to mention to the fact that everyone has different demands on headphone sets, listening to other music and other listening behavior has or priorities set. Therefore anticipate out my priorities:
- Possible linear, so no excessive increases of eg bass at the expense of other frequencies. Nevertheless, still nen crisp and clean Basswumms (Audiophile be me now for the choice of words stony)
- Like "Club Suitable" for a gig in a blue moon ;-)
- High power handling, if you decide not to play one or the other time NEN track louder
- Comfortable to wear, should not annoy too much even after a couple of hours
- Mobility completely irrelevant, since I use in-ears go. Folding would be great
Music I listen to everything eigentich Querbeet, the test I had while following tracks primarily (all FLAC):
For space test:
- Adele (Live at Royal Albert Hall): Someone Like You / Set Fire to the Rain / Rolling in the Deep
For instrument emphases:
- Mike Oldfield: Platinum Collection (all tracks)
For Pop:
- Amy Macdonald - This Is The Life
- Aura Dione - Columbine
For a test on the sounds "Handmade rock music":
- Metallica: .... And Justice For All / Black Album (DTS remastered)
For quick Metal:
- Slayer: Reign in Blood / South of Heaven
For quieter electronic music:
- Ladytron: Best of 00-10 / Gravity the Seducer
- Anthony Rother: Best of (I just love the original "Little Computer People")
For Rock-hard electronic music (Gabba from 220 BPM):
- Everything what knüppelt extremely fast ;-)
For normal Techno / House / Minimal:
- All kinds of things about John Tejada to the current Miss Kittin (bassline !!!!), Swayzak - State of Grace and and and
So as you can see and read just anything, I was therefore looking for an optimal all-rounder. must make one here and there NEN smear is clear, but I was looking for the penny! ^^
The Test Candidates:
- Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: What the hell ??? Extremely distorted bass at high levels, too much emphasis on the bass even switch to minimal level. Untransparent middle, treble it too spicy. Love Beyerdynamic people that you can but much better ....
- Ultrasone DJ1 Pro: too quiet, much too quiet ... apart from: 1 x cable with 6.3mm jack, which can not be removed (that is, the cable already, but the latch on the cable not)! 1 x cable with 3.5mm blade max. 40cm long ???? Those who want the part in his PC should not forget to order an extension cord! Quite balanced sound, bass raised, but hardly surface effect.
- Sennheiser HD 25 C-II: great sound and loud, clean and neutral. press but wear to an hour ago the like hell on the ears (and I do not have large protruding eavesdropper!)
- AiAiAi TMA-1: was my current headphones DJ headphones, bass emphasized very loud and strong, that's the problem. Mids and highs are too much in the background. Good for the DJ in the noisy club, at home not really sparkling.
- Sony MDR-V700: sound nice, but again too much emphasis on the bass, but too heavy and annoying quickly on the ears and on the head.
- Denon DN-H1000: Sound nich unfortunately plumpest, lower bass ranges washed out quickly, the middle part, just wiped out.
- AKG K550: too quiet, but good sound. Comfortable for my taste too little bass pressure, for a huge stage and 1A
- Reloop RH-P20: awesome to wear, but also strong here DJ orientation at the expense of the middle and at extremely high levels misfire !? Monday Model?
- AKG K167 Tiesto: Distorted super fast bass at slightly higher levels. Since the K550's peaceful. Useless as DJ headphones, sound at low volume very good, clear and balanced, but for the price?
- Technics RP-DH1200: See Sony, the Technics but even fouler Ausprügung the bass at the expense of the middle
- Pioneer DJH-2000: for the price? Sound is not bad, also boosted bass, comfortable to wear, I ordered my time as an alleged "reference".
- Philips Fidelio L1 / 00: Could have been really great, but (as you can read already in many reviews) lost too much emphasis on the bass at the expense of the middle, as sounds go easy times
Ok, those were my subjective opinions, and I am not a professional, at least that I did not say all somehow. I then met with the Audio Technica here. Across the board almost only good opinions, reviews and top and for about 150 ??? Hmmmm, actually I was a bit skeptical. Regardless, after the mass of headphones makes a cabbage also not fat, so appointed times, quasi rather just4fun and behold ....
Packaging unspectacular, cable can not lose weight separately one, looks relatively plain out ok ... Is now no style charm.
Test equipment:
- Original onboard sound chip (Realtek ALC any sonstwas with Dolby and such frills)
- Starting my Corsair SP2500 desktop speaker system
- Creative Sound Blaster X-FI HD (with Headphone Amplifier)
- Internal sound card my Denon MC-3000 midi mixer (for high level ^^)
- Denon AVR 1703 AV Receiver
Of course you can also take a 500 headphone amp, but the city is not me at your disposal. We forget the onboard chip same time, the blades of the Corsairs also, significantly, only the Creative and the map of the Denon Mixers. The AV receiver I leave sometimes left out, because I have not tested much, because the cable is already too short and I use the real for my pit if it is to be correct space-filling times.
No sooner said than done, so ran to the Creative. I could go to every single track above rumlamentieren what where was how great and what came across as where, I take it but sometimes short, and almost together.
Sound - absolutely ingenious vote, the only above headphones that can keep up is the Sennheiser HD25. The bass is bone dry, but not boring. Accented nicely without too much lift to the front (which at Studio headphones also would rather pointlessly). The centers were (as far as my hearing is able to tell) not returned at the expense of any other frequency. On the contrary to most of something higher up. The highs are crystal clear and clean, without cutting (ok, the mixer from extreme levels then also holds, but the volume is not a minute without ears bleeding, to more of the same).
If the bass is lifting something over the EQ and at very high volumes still like to want something "bass feeling" (this minimum tingling on the scalp) no thing. And even while the handset is fantastic stable. Overwhelming.
Although he can not keep up with the stage of the K550 (because one feels at Adele real middle class), but still plays sher space on a closed. Real smart.
Denon MC3000:
Ok, so time to test whether the thing would fit ... DJ said done, and on the level .... Jeez .... so I'm partly extreme volumes used but the thing you can to the mercilessness of the pain threshold driving without which distorts not imitate .... Please, can cause hearing loss !!!!
Yes what should I write a lot more? Oh yes ....
Comfort:
- The headset is around the ear, is a little harder on the ear, shields a matter but also extremely from the outside world. The ear pads are relatively soft. After a while you forget it even on the head. Ok, the pressure is slightly higher than many competing candidates. since the AKG's and the Beyerdynamic makes no before anything.
>>> This is then the smear, I am personally willing to make !!!
So we come to the time relevant for me conclusion:
Positives:
+ Peak sound (clean the bass / mid / treble, super frequency separation, linear, still relatively "size" stage for a closed)
+ No audible (for me) distortion or clipping of individual frequencies)
+ Absolute price / value for money
+ Foldable, easy to store, rotatable earcups
Without distorting + extreme level hard
+ Can be perfect for quiet HiFi in the living room and for the gig at Club
+ Excellent shielding
+ On request also times very loud and even always clean (to be compared with the HD25 I mean the volume and some know how loud the monster can)
+ Plain exterior (I do not like gaudy Proll listener like the Beats scrap)
Negatives:
- Cable not removable
- Plain exterior (for people who are on gaudy beats scrap)
- A relatively high pressure, could be a bit uncomfortable for hours) for eyeglass wearers initially
So who is looking for a perfect all-rounder with a linear sound with no major distortions, possibly also NEN gig or even makes music and wants to spend no 500+ who has found his master.
My odyssey is finally over. I hope this review helps one or the other or further stimulates at least people like me who are looking for the optimum of possible headset, at least on this to hear the part time. You will not regret, and probably so think like me :-))) it
