Anyway. To fight Despite the Settings on the island for his life and a secret cult to come on the ropes, which dominates the island, you can see still the traditional game principles of Tomb Raider. Climbing and shimmy have remained, as well as the climbing puzzles in graves. Nevertheless, everything shines in a new guise. Bow and arrow open up new possibilities of climbing puzzles.
And since it is a "Survival Game", of course, the focus has been tightened slightly on the weapons. The arsenal is not present from the outset but has to be collected and modified.
What is noticeable in the game clearly, the influences of Rocksteady are "Batman: Arkham" series. No wonder, the publisher Sqare Enix, which bought up EIDOS, but the publishing of the first game has taken over. So remember a few elements, as just upgrading the weapons with found parts, significantly Batman. What, however, no negative point should be. Just like the change of Lara's clothes as the game progresses. All the strains can also not simply pass mark on Tank and cargo pants.
The story is deep and emotionally. Lara changed by losses and sacrifices materially from the quite TAFFEN® young lady for nefarious adventuress. The end is really just the beginning of a hopefully new modern series of Tomb Raider games.
A playing time of 15-20 hours are nowadays already a top result. Higher only come the RPG title of Bethesta.
For Multiplayer:
I still do not understand why so many games with single player get a sometimes more, sometimes less well-made multiplayer mode. Be it Assassins Creed or even now Tomb Raider. I think it is because as Rocksteady: All power should be placed in the story mode. You do not need multiplayer over a good game. These additional employees can use for other things.
What now does not necessarily mean that such an MP is not fun.
But nunja. You can not change it and wants to have all the Achievements / Trophies, you have to fight by the MP. But after all, not torture. Although kept relatively simple, but it makes reasonably fun. A long-term motivation, there is not but from my perspective. There are the usual modes such as Capture the Flag (here a Health Pack) or Deathmatch. By reaching level 60 is then also closing for me.
That's why I think it is a shame that the first DLC is directly an MP DLC with three new maps. An extension of the single player would have liked more, because the island can not be explored by 100%. There are still small, green spots.
Finally, the assessment of the Collector's Edition contents:
The figure of PlayV Arts Kai impresses with its attention to detail and the beautiful accessories and should be a small place of honor donated get. Top right in front of the beautiful aluminum can in it and get the game. Finally back away from these cardboard boxes other CEs.
The Art Book is just a .... Art Book. Nothing earth-shattering but well bound and beautiful motifs. Survival bag would have but can save. The digital content as well. Only the additional grave is quite interesting, as the immediate master of climbing skills. The Hitman weapons package but is more for the birds.
The soundtrack is of course not as a CD, but as MP3 download. However, the music is really dramatic tailored to the scene and no "ear candy" for the ride on the bus, like cinematic soundtracks.
All in all a very nice collector's edition and a very nice game.
A small addendum for 100% Achievement / Trophy Hunter like me:
Unfortunately you have to (currently) but through the multiplayer torture to obtain all Achievements / trophies. The reason for this is that you have to unlock all characters and accessories for weapons for a successful conclusion. The final multiplayer skin, however, is linked to an achievement of Prestige Rank 3. So you have to send his character three times through all 60 levels. A tedious task, which indicates clearly on an artificial keeping alive the MP.
