Well, it's clearly audible that they wanted to build on the successes of that era again. Actually, everything was present: Sandra's unique voice, Hubert Kah as Background / voiceover, the former rhythms are also brought to light.
I can not even tell you why that is, but the spark simply spingt not. And I hear things from that time still, but with this album I'm not quite clear. It's just all too homogeneous, uniform mass without own mind.
Very disappointing: why sounds "Kings & Queens" completely as the twin sister of "Mary Magdalene"? Had it really be? And Sandra's voice has not this gross distortion necessary, such as those used here - sometimes even to "Wheel Of Time" is one and bothersome.
My conclusion: I hope there's another attempt to 80s Revival! I would be beastly to hear more from the real Sandra and also a couple of new, sophisticated Songst instead the warm-up versions of the past. There is certainly enough material from which one can tinker hits, especially after such a long abstinence.
