The first new gives its name to the collection, and it is again a master assassin story, kind readers of "winning the war" in great welcome swoons. The story is as truculent as language. The twists abound, the suspense is exhilarating, and theme.
The second new is called "the elf and murderers" which is itself a tasty program is the lightest of the collection despite war crimes descriptions that would not have denied Baudelaire (see carrion) .
"Desecration" is the trial of a robber of corpses by the judges of the sinister cult Dried. It includes the very strong language and imagery which beggars Jaworski manages to give a force and an incredible passion. It is a cynical monument. As we read between the lines of the secrets of this mysterious cult of Dried.
With "desolation" is a new people that is honored, dwarves! And it is definitely my favorite of the collection. With Tolkien quote in the introduction, is the theme of the mines of Moria appears to be revisited, but do not rely on appearances, the dwarves are here much more devious than the master. We epic battles in the dwarf spirit and quality of intrigue. As for vocabulary, well let's say Jaworski did not need to invent a language for the dwarves, they know their own invent a talk which is stunning.
The last news I had already read in a compilation, is the story of an epic battle between two magics, the elves any Lumiere and transcendence and corrupt and errant priests necromantic magic of Dried. It is a festival of special effects, and subtleties. The magical battle is played on two planes, material and spiritual, it is just remarkable. I plebiscite!
In the end, it's really hard to stop, and it thus ends too quickly. But rejoice: the news is even more delicious to the replay!
