A book that I discovered by chance, extremely instructive for anyone who enjoys the Languedoc coast, history, education, cities that have disappeared, really a book I recommend. I'm trying to read it because it is so captivating. Le Barcares is described as being at the time (1876), a village of a few fishermen's houses, when we see what has become ...! We learn that the bridge-house Narbonne has 9 arches while we see that, the bridge Sommières 17 arches while we only see 5, the inhabitants being cornered and built in the river bed, or in Narbonne Sommières ... Really useful book.
