Of Mice and Men (Paperback)

Customer Review

This book is very short, but it is touching, showing once again that quality is more important than quantity. These 175 pages are made of friendship, hope, dreams but also reality and choices.
In this book the author depicts life in the ranches of California during the 30s, the relationship between "white" and "black" and a way of life for some nomadic workers George and Lennie such.

It's not that much going on in this book, because the action is limited to a few pages, but the entire book, the themes that the whole is poignant, marking ...

The author's style is simple and effective, like his characters whose life is summed up almost exclusively by work. The characters are endearing: of course we think Lennie and George, whose friendship is full, but I also think the old Candy.

What I most affected in this book that's life which these men dream: a life of work, happiness and simple pleasures. Moreover, this life is almost within reach ... We happen almost touching the fur of rabbits that Lennie dream. And perhaps this is why I was more than surprised by the outcome of the story.
