Comfort and Song / Volume Control:
Wearing, by means of wireless strap - on the (beneficial!) Free neck and over the ears extending - is very pleasant and the earplugs are for me a comfortable seat so that jogging is the Sports Walkman a relaxed affair. because nothing bothers or wobbles and the buttons for changing a song / volume are always within reach, even in the test with the everyday spectacles on his nose, there were no complaints. In addition, there is no problem, even just to use an earplug and the second single "dangle" to let the neck, the way you want to realize a little of the surroundings. One should bear in mind that (even when switched off the device), the ambient noise is attenuated by the earplug and responsiveness (z. B. with him stalking joggers / cyclists / crossing a street) can be greatly affected eventually.
A small disadvantage: Because the device has no display, one comes only by the constant back and forth jumping to the next album. So there is the spontaneous desire for a specific song, it can be a tedious affair, having to click through the individual music tracks especially when one exploits the 4 GB memory, and there are several music albums on the device. But can then make the shuffle function for some variety in the order that a rapid push of a button (there is an announcement on the headphones) On / Off can be switched. Moreover is right next to the pros and rewind buttons a convenient pause button, time should be a spontaneous Hörpause needed. All in all a simple matter for the sporting / sporadic use.
Timbre and flexibility:
Apparently the Sony NWZ-W273S is suitable not only for the running track, but also for the swimming pool. The second option I have not been tested. When it rains (and even in the shower) you have to do without a musical background, as stated in the self-test, however, with this device. The waterproof capability is therefore a real advantage! In terms of tone, there is nothing to complain with me. The volume control is easy to use and the unit achieved a good / clean (n) noise / quality. Ultimately, the sound quality (as often happens) but certainly a subjective matter. For me, bass and loudness were perfectly adequate and comparable to other, ordinary MP3 players.
Battery and Charging:
Here, too, the process actually explained by itself. By means of a USB cable (included Aufsteckstation for headphones), the device can easily be connected to the PC. New songs can be synchronized and deleted using "Windows Media Player" easy or as an alternative on the folder function. This is fast and requires only a few simple steps. Minor drawbacks: If you want to achieve a good / long battery life, you should take into account some time for the charging process, otherwise one can go before the fuel out. Anyway, the device could be a slightly longer battery strength tolerated. For occasional use there is no problem with long-term use, however, the charging station should be a precaution stowed in luggage and might have a PC / Notebook case, as an extra plug-in attachment (for connecting with the USB cable) for the outlet is in the price not included. However, the owner of a smart or iPhones should such a plug attachment already own and thus a terminal for charging is not always necessary. Shortly to recharge: When the headphones touched down on the charging station should make sure that the unit is in the correct position - flashes a red light, everything is fine!
What I missed: For the bag a plug attachment for the Sports Walkman would have been handy. So similar to the charger, just without an affixed cable with USB plug, so you stowed the device even at rest and in a somewhat chaotic environment, white in safety. However, this should not be a criticism!
My Conclusion:
I am happy! While jogging, the Sony NWZ-W273S proves a motivational musical accompaniment, which can be operated easy and comfortably. For continuous normal use, outside the running track, to me personally missing a few features (like a clear display and a perennial battery), but for sporadic / sporting use this MP3 player is very practical and in my opinion recommendable.
