These are just some questions asked by London in this novel that brutal, adventure on the bottom, does not mask the author's fascination towards sheer force, the primordial vitality, the beast in man once it has freed itself of morality.

The prose of the author is to eclipse sometimes good dynamic outbreaks, other times a little breadsticks moments but generally, the London texts well hold water. The author has worked his character Wolf Larsen, force of nature, self-taught, which grows nothing but strength, and exercises terribly in this enclosed area what a ship. The character of Van Weyden only serves to enforce the fascination with this brute force and contrast of very weak arguments ("Pope, how many division?").
